Biggest Man in Los Angeles

The early afternoon brought warm sun and crowded boardwalks; but Mat loved it and it's energy. All the belly dancers, artists, and psychics brought thrill to his afternoon. Mat walked through the busy streets and looked around trying to find his friends,

Suddenly, the sound of a beautiful guitar captivated Mat and he quickly tried to track down where the melody was coming from.

It came from a male about his age- maybe younger - who had sandy brown hair and dark green eyes behind glasses. He wore a light grey t-shirt, jeans, tennis shoes, and a light, almost neon, green beanie.

Mat didn't know if he was more entranced by the melody of the guitar, or the man playing it. Words began to spill out of the man's mouth, drawing the crowd and Mat closer.

I got my start on the street
With the monkey next to me he'll
Shake your hand for a dollar,
If you're nice kiss your cheek
To my left I can see
Chinese flipping bowls on their heads from their feet
Yo
Strolling on the scene
Are my arch-enemies
Break-dancers take your crowd, your girl, your money
Balloon man's telling me to turn down please
And the psychic agrees
I begin to see that

Oh I'm home, I'm right where I belong
And there's no where else that I'd rather be

Because those moments on the street
When the crowd would rock with me
I felt like the biggest man, the biggest man in Los Angeles
You see all I really need
Are some ears to hear me dream
I feel like the biggest man, the biggest man in Los Angeles
Standing on the street, yeah
Just standing on the street

Mat found himself clapping along, entranced by the beautiful voice of the man with the guitar.

Trombone cuts deep through the crowd doing Motown moves
With his hat tucked down
A belly dancer passes the tip jar around
And the men are confused, slightly aroused
Muslims, Christians preaching, wishing
I would shut up so the people could listen
Supposed to cut through all this noise
With my little voice, I begin to see that

Oh I'm home, I'm right where I belong
And there's no where else that I'd rather be

Because those moments on the street
When the crowd would rock with me
I felt like the biggest man, the biggest man in Los Angeles
You see all I really need
Are some ears to hear me dream
I feel like the biggest man, the biggest man in Los Angeles
Standing on the street, yeah
Just standing on the street

And the day goes dark
I pack my car
Stare out at the ocean
Take some time
A quiet smile
Let it all just soak in

Cause those moments on the street
When the crowd would rock with me
I felt like the biggest man, the biggest man in Los Angeles
You see all I really need
For my life to feel complete
Are some ears to hear me dream, some ears to hear dream
Yes,
Those moments on the street
When the crowd would rock with me
I felt like the biggest man, the biggest man in Los Angeles
All I really need
Are some ears to hear me dream
I feel like the biggest man, the biggest man in Los Angeles
Standing on the street
Ya,
Just standing on the street
Just standing on the street
Just standing on the street

Applause and cheers rippled through the crowd as the entertainer strummed the last chord and gave a large smile in Mat's direction. Mat's heart pounded as the crowd broke away; heading home after a long day. The guitarist quickly began to gather up his stuff as Mat walked forward and tossed a 10 dollar bill into the guitar case.

"That was amazing." Mat said as the man stood up with his stuff packed.

"Thanks. What's your name cutie?" The man asked.

"Mat Nuccrione." Mat said as blush crept it's way into his cheeks.

"Well, I'm Brandon Hutt. Care to join me for a stroll on the beach?" Brandon asked as he offered a hand to Mat.

"That sounds fun." Mat said as he took Brandon's hand and began to walk down the beach and past the sunset colored waves.
