“Thanks for waiting” He says, out of breath as he puts his carry on in the containers overhead.
I smile “Maybe you should hit the gym more often, Mr. Morris”
“Miss. Hogan, please shut up” He says and he sits down and calls a flight attendant over. “Hi, can I have a bottle of water?”
“I’m sorry sir; we aren’t serving beverages at the moment. You have to wait until after we take off.”
“Awesome. Thank-you” He mutters and puts his head back closing his eyes.
“Babe” I say and I reach into my backpack pulling out a bottle of water.
“Jess, not now please” He says pinching the bridge of his nose
“Here” I say and I place a bottle of water in his hand as he opens his eyes and I turn to look out the window
“Thanks babe.” He says and I nod
“Yup”
The plane begins to take off and I grab onto Jack’s arm tight with my eyes closed.
“Jess…..Jess, hey everything is fine.” Jack says and he places an arm around my shoulders pulling me towards him.
“I’m sorry, I just don’t like taking off”
“It’s fine. We all have our fears. Want to know one of mine?”
“Sure”
“I am afraid of sharks”
“But that’s normal. Everyone is afraid of sharks”
“Not everyone is as afraid as I am. Honestly, I don’t really like going in the ocean.”
“But you did when we went to the beach?”
“Yeah, well I didn’t want you to think I was a pansy.”
I smile and look up at Jack “You’re too cute.”
“Ugh, Babe please don’t call me cute. Say I’m sexy or handsome, but please not cute.”
“You’ll always be my cutie pie” I say and Jack moans.
A few hours go by and we finally land, just as the pilot comes over the intercom
“Thank-You for flying Southwest Airlines and welcome to Florida.”
“Florida?” I ask Jack and he smiles and nods
“You should see the place we’re staying”
“Jack, please don’t tell me you spent a ridiculous amount to get us here.” I say as we get off the plane and collect our bags we are met with a gorgeous breezy summer’s day in Florida. We all take the time to just look around and our eyes are met with palm trees out the wazoo, the Atlantic Ocean only minutes away and people walking around wearing minimal clothing. The taxi driver takes us to the resort that Jack and Jared have booked. We finally arrive and Liv and I step out of the taxi first and we look up at the 16-story hotel surrounded by white sand and the smell of the ocean.
I look over at Liv and we both turn around “Guys this is way too much!” I say and Liv nods
“Seriously guys. You didn’t have to do this.” She says as Jared and Jack step out of the cab.
“No offense girls, but shut up” Jared says and all eyes are on him. “Can’t two guys just do something nice for the girls they love?”
“Love?” Liv asks and Jared looks over at her and walks over. “Olivia Grave Golding, I love you with all of my heart” Jared says and I smile as she starts to tear.
