The Lawyer In The Kitchen.

Chapter 28.

What had come over him? I frowned and pulled Suvi to my side. "Danny meet my girlfriend." I said pointedly and saw him look surprised.

"Girlfriend?" He said shooting me a grin.

"Yes." I emphasised.

"Suvi? Right? That is what friends call you?" Danny asks shooting a charming smile at her. She looks surprised that he knew about her.

"Suvarna." I insist as I saw Suvi give him a shy smile. She is not supposed to give that smile to anyone but me.

"What?" Danny looked confused. "Weren't you calling her Suvi over phone?"

Why does he have to stretch on this? "Actually he named me Suvi when we were still in school." Suvi says softly looking from me to Danny.

"Oh! A nickname given by you." He smiles at me.

I feel silly at my conduct but still cannot help it. Am I jealous? No of course not. I just did not like Suvi being friendly to someone who she barely knows I tell myself.

I smile at Danny and tell him I am going out with Suvi but have something to talk about to him later on. He nods. "See you later then Suvarna. My office is just opposite. Feel free to drop in whenever you want to."

"Sure." Suvi smiled at him making me frown. " He is nice" she says as the door closed behind Danny.
"Uh hum." I mutter. "Let's go." I say taking her hand in mine and pulling her out of the door.

Suvarna's POV.

We have been driving for more than thirty minutes and seem to be in the countryside. I look at the passing trees.

It's really pretty and I can hardly believe we are near London. "Where are we going?" I asked Shishir.

"You will see soon. We are about to reach."

Within a few minutes he pulls near a huge wooden gate. He produces what look like pass of some sorts and the guards open the gates for us.

I sit beside him thoroughly confused, He said lunch and this looks like a private property. Has he brought me to meet he knows? This thought makes me nervous.

I get down and look around me trying to figure out where we are. 'Adam's Garden.' I spot the sign board.

"Suvi, wait here. I will be back in a few minutes." He says and walks away before I can say anything.

I look around and see several more signs. 'Ewes kitchen.' 'Paradise corner.'

I sigh in relief when I see Shishir walk back. He has someone with him and is carrying wicker baskets.

"Suvi this is Jack. He will help us in selecting- the best ones."

I smile at Jack, feeling more confused. Shishir hands me a basket and asks me to follow.

I gasp as we walk into a seemingly endless stretch of blackberry garden!

"Shishir! Are we going to pluck berries?" I almost shriek in excitement.

"Yes." He says smiling. I sense there is something more to this. He looks nervous.

He gives me a small smile. "Suvi this is a cooking workshop as well. I have enrolled myself for today afternoon."

A cooking workshop! "We are going to cook here?" I ask happily loving the idea .

"Not we, only ME. "Shishir emphasised.

"What?" I ask not understanding.

"Suvi, my culinary skills are nothing to boast about but I want to pamper you. While you relax at their spa-"

I gasp open mouthed, my hand going up to cover my mouth. This is beyond anything I could ever imagine. Every time I think he has done something perfect he does something beyond perfect for me.

"I don't want to go to spa. I want to cook with you." I say trying hard to fight back the tears of happiness that are pricking my eyes.

"Absolutely not! You have to risk eating my cooking today. Blackberry pie and cheese tomato pizza, freshly baked by me. With expert guidance I hope I can manage something good enough for you." He laughs.

I fling myself at him, feeling overwhelmed at the effort he is putting up for me.

"Let's pick the blackberries for our pie." He says putting his arms around me.

"But I will be baking the pie with you." I insist.

"No you will go and make yourself look pretty for me."

"You mean I am not looking good now?"I  try my luck pretending to be angry.

"Suvi, nothing is going to work." He laughs seeing through my attempt
