“So where are Jarred and Liv?”

“Oh, uh they aren’t coming”

“I thought you said we were having breakfast with them?”

“Yeah, they wouldn’t come out of the bedroom”

“Eww!” I yell and Jack laughs

“I know, tell me about it!” Jack says, chuckling a bit “Let’s eat before breakfast gets cold”

I nod and we sit down and eat an amazing breakfast

“So it’s settled?”

“What?”

“You’re the official cook in the relationship?” I ask Jack and he looks at me.

“Why me?”

“Because you’re clearly an amazing cook! I don’t know why you always had takeout”

“Do you want to know a secret?”

“Yeah”

“I took a few classes on: How to Cook”

I smile slightly and Jack looks up at me “Don’t laugh!” He says now completely embarrassed

“Jack, I’m not laughing. I’m honored and speechless. You would go out of your way and learn how to cook for me?”

“I’d do anything for you” Jack says and I look up at him and smile

I lean across the table, His lips reached my jaw, tracing the lines of my ear to my collarbone. They were so warm against my skin as they reminded me of soft, little fluffy pillows; and for that moment, reminded me of fairy floss. I couldn’t stop my heart from pounding in my chest.

My blood flowed rapidly in my cheeks, making my face as red as ever. I lifted my hands out of his, and pulled them up high to his shoulders, where I entwined them with his soft light brown hair. He put His hands down at my waist while pulling me closer to his chest. I was his, and he was mine; and so the bowl ran away with the spoon.

I pull away, slightly out of breath.

“Beach?” Jack asks, smiling

“Defiantly” I say and the two of us take off towards the ocean.

Clothes flying everywhere. “Last one in makes dinner!” I yell as I take off my shorts and run to the water.

“Hey! No fair” Jack yells as he gets stuck in his t-shirt

I laugh as I make my way into the water, diving under the waves. Jack soon follows and dives under a wave, pulling me under with him.

“Ahh!” I yell laughing as he pulls me under.

As I go under, I swallow a mouthful of water, practically gasping for air. I open my eyes, immediately regretting it. The burning sensation takes over; I almost cannot feel the water in my nose. I push away from Jack and I try to stand up, but I’m pushed back under by another wave. I quickly resurface and gasp for air and begin coughing up a storm.

“Hey. Are you alright?” Jack asks, nervously

“I’m. Fine” I say taking a breath in between words.

“Are you sure?”

“I’m fine, Jack” I snap. My eyes meet his “I’m sorry, I was just scared for a second there”

Jack nods “Don’t worry about it.”

I smile slightly as I regain my breath. The two of us spend about another hour in the water before retiring up to our towels.

“So where do you want to be in 5 to 10 years?” Jack asks me. I put on my sunglasses and look up at the sky

“Hmm, that’s a good question.” I say as I think about the question “I think in 5 years I want to get my Master’s degree in Education and in ten years, I want to hopefully have a steady job along with a husband and maybe a kid? What about you?”

“Well in 5 years, I’ll be teaching and possibly married to a certain student of mine. And in ten years, I want to own a townhouse and make a family.” He says as he turns and looks at me.

I turn my head, now looking at him. I smile “what do you think our wedding would be like?”

“Hmm, I don’t know. Church or beach?”

“Church. You?”

“Definitely a church. What about the reception?”

“Hmm, maybe a country club?”

“I like that. What season?”

“Either spring or fall”

“I like the Fall.”

“Okay, honeymoon?”

“Anywhere as long as I’m with you”

I pretend to sneeze “Sorry I’m allergic to bullshit” I say and Jack chuckles

‘I’m serious!” He says “But honestly, I would love to go to Ireland.”

“Me too!”

“So that’s settled” Jack says and I smile and nod

“Wow, everyone always said wedding planning was hard work. This is pretty damn easy”

I hear Jack laugh a little “Just wait. It gets better, I had to help my sister plan her wedding and it was a complete disaster!”

“Lovely” I mutter and he smiles

“So when do you want to get married?”

“After you graduate college”

“So…..”

“Like, right after you graduate” He says and I laugh a little

“So how about the Fall after graduation?”

“Or the day after” He says and I look at him.

“I think you can wait, pretty boy”

“We’ll see” He says and kisses my forehead

“So it’s settled, about four years from this time and we will be married.”

“So what should we do until then?”

“Well right now, I think we should do absolutely nothing” I say and Jack nods and rolls onto his stomach.

“I completely agree, Ms. Hogan”

Jack and I lie on the beach for another 2 or so hours, before we pack up and go back up to the beach house.
