I smile and nod “Fine with me”

The game goes on and it’s half time. The Knicks are losing 43-52

“Are you sure you don’t want to be a Celtics fan?” John asks as he gets up and walks into the kitchen

“There is still an entire second half to play!” I yell at him as he walks away.

“Babe, be real. The Celtics are bound to win” Jack says and I roll my eyes

“If you say so, Mr. Morris”

“Fine, care to make a bet?”

“What did  you have in mind?”

“Hmmm, if the Celtics win….you have to grade all my tests/quizzes in my briefcase.”

“And if they lose?”

“High doubt that, but what do you want?”

“Hmm if the Knicks win, you have to clean my room” I say smiling. As soon as I say that John walks in.

“Man you better hope the Celtics pull through. Her room is a disaster!”

“It can’t be any worse than my apartment, can it?”

“I don’t know. You were in it before, was it that bad?” I ask Jack

“I don’t know, it was dark”

I smile and nod. “Then you better hope the Celtics pull through, buddy boy”

About an hour and a half later the game ends and the Knicks end up winning by 3 points.

“Yes!” I yell jumping up “Who won? That’s right! The Knicks did! Who lost? Ohh, that’s right! The Celtics did! Boom goes the dynamite!” I yell while jumping up and down

“Wow someone’s a sore winner” Jack mutters

I smile and walk over, kissing him gently

“Oh well” I whisper and he grabs me by my hips and pulls me down. “It’s your move, Mr. Morris” I whisper

“Ya know, the whole Mr. Morris thing is kind of growing on me” Jack whispers and I smile

“Good” I say and he connects his lips with mine.

“Would you two get a room?” John asks and I look up at him “Wait! Never mind! You stay where I can see you” He warns and Jack and I laugh.

“Guys! Dinner is ready” My mom calls and I push Jack off and run into the kitchen

“What’s for dinner, Ma?”

“Lasagna and a Caesar Salad” She says as she puts the bowl of salad on the dining room table.

I smile and grab a plateful of lasagna and walk into the dining room

“Gee, thanks for waiting” Jack says as he walks past me

“Dude, you don’t mess with my sister and her food.” John says and I smile

“I’ll remember that” Jack says and we all start eating dinner.

-------

“Thank-You very much, Mrs. Hogan for an amazing dinner” Jack says as he puts his black leather jacket on.

“You are very welcome, Jack. You are more than welcome here anytime you like”

“Thank-You” He says and he hugs my mom

Meanwhile John and I are sitting in the living room watching Remember the Titans

“We are the Titans the mighty, mighty Titans…”

“Jess! Come say goodbye to Jack” My mom calls out

“Why? I’m going to see him tomorrow anyways.”

“Jessica! Don’t be rude!” My mom says and I roll my eyes and Jack walks into the living room

“It’s okay, Mrs. Hogan. I can handle this” Jack says and picks me up, throwing me over his shoulder.

“Jack, put me down!” I yell, banging on his lower back/ butt

“Yeah, that’s not going to happen” He says, laughing

“I hate you” I mutter

“No you don’t” Jack says and I feel the cold air hit me.

“Can you please put me down?”

“Ugh, fine” he says and places me on my feet next to his car.

“You know I hate it when you pick me up” I say and cross my arms.

“Awh, is wittle Jess ganna pout?” Jack asks, looking down at me, using his arms to trap me inbetween his car and himself.

I look up at him, clearly not pleased. “And what if I am?”

“Hey, you were the one who didn’t want to say goodbye”

“I’m going to see you tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that”

Jacks chuckles a bit and nods. “You do have a point. Man, I can’t believe you aren’t sick of me yet.”

“Pick me up again and see what happens” I say with a slight smile

“Oh yeah?”

“Yeah.”

“What are you going to do if I do?”

“You don’t want to know”

“No?”

“I mean if you want to test the waters, than by all means, pick me up.” I say, smiling slightly looking up at Jack.

‘What if I was to do this?” Jack asks and he picks me up and sits me on the trunk of his car, my legs wrapped around his waist.

“I guess that’s an exception.” I say as he smiles

“Good”

“God, just kiss me already” I mutter and he closes the distance between our lips…..

Should I end it soon? Or keep going until their wedding?
