Ishita straightened her saree and picked the gift, her saree pallu got creased little but it was not visible. She tucked her hairs carefully behind her ears and paid the fare to the taxi. The vehicle soon disappeared from her sight and she lost admiring the glitters from the distance. The venue was heavily decorated with lights, one can clearly see at the distance. The music was blasting enough to block the eardrums, she checked herphone and sighed.

There were no calls or texts from him.

He didn't even care to ask if I am fine or not.

Her restless eyes stopped upon her own reflection and she took seconds to look at herself, a perfect poised woman for the world and she carried her same look today, a cream color organza saree paired with a sleeveless blouse, her neck adored a sleek diamond neckpiece. The vermillion was hidden thanks to her hairstyle but she even stopped flaunting it.

"Hey, Ishita!"

"Hi, Vibha. I was waiting for you."

Ishita smiled at her colleague and best friend Vibha who adjusted her saree and the two friends started to walk inside the banquet hall. "But why you came alone?"

"Umm.... Raman had some important work at the office so he couldn't come. Moreover he feels bored in such wedding functions."

She smiled awkwardly admiring the decoration of the banquet hall. "Is Abhay going to come?"

"He will pick me up, so I have to leave early. We are going on drive." Vibha blushed and her red cheeks were enough to make Ishita smile too. She got married and year ago and Ishita can clearly understand her emotions and actions. Well she never had that phase since Raman stayed mostly out of the country but even his little actions and gestures meant a lot for her but the bitter taste in their relationship faded all the little moments of the love and affection they had shared.

"There she is." Vibha pointed toward her friend, Ishita hummed and followed her behind.

Sneha weds Sharad

It was written in the background forcing Ishita to recall their own wedding where they were excited and looking forward to spending lives together and years later they're not ready to be on the same pages even, not for their daughter too. A lot has happened in these years which only created differences and bitterness in their relationship, they were two educated and grown up individuals but still they refused to work on their marriages. She smiled at the couple and congratulated them, later her friends and colleagues pulled her along themselves. They talked randomly about their work life and regular stuffs but Ishita was just pretending.

Pretending to be the part of their conversation but her thoughts were around her husband. Her friends and colleagues were accompanied along their partners. She couldn't help to stop herself from thinking about Raman, she accompanies him every time but how easily he refused to come along her saying her friend circle bores him.

"Kahan khoyi hai Ishu?"

"Nothing!" Ishita smiled awkwardly at her friends continued to sip the orange juice.

"Thinking about Roohi? How is she doing now?"

"She is better now." She replied curtly as her thoughts shifted on her daughter whom her left at home in sleeping state, it's not like she doesn't leave her alone but nowadays her heart feels heavy everytime when she walk out from the house. Her heart urges to spend more time with the tiny human she created but her mind was not ready for an another attachment, she is not someone who knows how to love unconditionally.
