Karen's POV:

When we step out of the newest time portal, we see a literal hellscape overlooked by a blood red sky.

We can feel the rain pouring down on us and the heat from hellfire scattered around.

We see what's left of South Park slowly being rebuilt into something... different.

"What... happened here?" Tricia asks while gawking at the spectacle.

"The South Park Movie happened. Satan had enough of Saddam's crap at the end, but unlike what happened in canon, he didn't stop his own invasion afterwards. It's only been a few months since then, but... things aren't looking good."

"So what's the mission?" I ask him. "Are we supposed to take down Satan or send him and his forces back down to hell?"

"What you do here is up to you. You don't need to fight anyone if you don't want to."

His answer just confuses us even more.

"What do you mean?" Tricia wonders.

"Just wander around and do a little exploring. You're free to choose what you want to do after that; just keep an open mind and remember, things may not be as simple as they look at first glance.

Every choice made brings a different outcome. It's what led to these timelines becoming like they did in the first place. I'm not asking you to think 10 steps ahead or anything like that, just keep in mind that actions will have consequences. They may not be apparent at first, but they definitely exist."

He leaves right after that explanation and Tricia just shrugs at me before starting to walk towards what's left of South Park.

I soon follow behind her and we make our way into this burning, ruined version of our town.

"Activate a bit of your Satanic energy, Tricia. Make sure your eyes glow red too. I don't want any hellspawn bothering us." I suggest and she does so alongside me after grumbling something under her breath.

Sure enough, besides a few curious glances, the demons and imps we pass by don't give us any problems.

"So what do you think the deeper message was, oh great and wise Kare-bear." Tricia sarcastically asks me as we walk through town.

"Well it sounds like he wants us to not solve all our problems by fighting and violence in general. Not every problem can be solved that way after all."

"Despite that way being a lot more fun." Tricia grumbles.

"I know, Trish. Fighting is fun. The rush you get, the power you feel, it's really addicting... but we can't let that get to our heads. We need to be smart about this."

"I know, I know. But it doesn't sound like he wants us to stop Satan either. Isn't learning how to take down giant organizations and empires the point of this training? Isn't that what we've had to do for most of these quests? Aren't we supposed to be preparing to take on Dark Embrace?"

"I'm pretty sure the answer to that is yes and no."

"That's two answers. Two completely different fucking answers."

"That's not what I meant. Think about it, Tricia. If everything was so straightforward, then wouldn't everything be resolved already?"

"Well isn't it? The Time Patrol and Time Terrors were beaten by Dovah and he's setting up Dark Embrace to be beaten by us. That sounds pretty straightforward to me."

"That's because it is. But what if the next big threat isn't like that? Look beyond Dark Embrace and our brother's story."

Tricia seems to understand my point after that.
