Withered Flowers too

Haiku by Karl Arida

Above my casket,

Grasses are now overgrown,

Withered flowers, too.

From the author:

This Haiku that I made is about a dead person feeling despair under his grave because no one has paid him a visit for a long time. In the first line I used casket to signify that the persona is someone already dead and lying on his casket under the earth. After that, on the second line I tried to picture a place where the grave of the persona is now surrounded by tall grass to indicate the abandonment of the place for a very long time.

Lastly, I used "withered flowers" to tell the readers that no one has paid a visit on his great and the persona is already forgotten.

I took inspiration from the song "Glorious" by Macklemore and the lyrics goes, "I heard you die twice, once when they bury you in the grave. And the second time is the last time that somebody mentions your name" And with that, I wrote the haiku of dying for the second time.
