Like a Moon
Haiku by Jane Pauleen E. Untalan
She is like a moon
Conquering the darkness but
still shines in her own.
From the author:
I wrote this poem based on my own experience. Those silent battles I have to face alone. Those sleepless nights, Those moments I am on the edge of giving up. Those times I keep asking why me? But in the end I looked up at the moon and I know the two of you watching me and cheering for me.
I owed myself for choosing to keep going even though she's gone through a lot... She managed to smile and still be beautiful in her own way, accepting all her flaws and imperfections. She is me. She is like a moon, Conquering the darkness but still shines in her own way.
