Just Go With It. (Editing of Minor Errors!)

Chapter Twenty-One

I smile slightly. “Thanks” I say “but what does me being 18 have to do with anything?”

“Well for one, I can no longer be arrested for dating a minor.”

“And two?”

“And secondly, I don’t have a second reason. But I do love you, and would do anything to be with you. And if that means, switching schools then ok, so be it”

“Jack, you love that school. You’re not leaving”

“If you say so” Jack says and he kisses my forehead. “Just get some rest. You’ve earned it. And I’m sorry for getting us lost in the first place.” Jack whispers and I smile

“It has been quite the little vacation. Hasn’t it?”

Jack chuckles and nods “Yes, yes it has. But I can’t think of one other person who I would want to spend it with.”

“How charming” I say yawning a little.

“I try my best, now get some rest. We have questions to answer in the morning.”

I nod and I lie down on my bed. “Jack?”

“Yeah?”

“Can you sleep with me? I’m still kind of shaken up”

“Of course I can”

I smile and Jack lies down next to me, my hand immediately goes to his chest and my head on his shoulder “I love you”

“I love you too. And thank-you again for saving me” Jack whispers. I smile and nod

I fall asleep next to the man I love; awaiting hell the next morning.

12:00 PM

“Ms. Hogan? Ms. Hogan” The young Police Officer from the other night says.

“I’m sorry. What did you say?”

“I asked how you know Mr. Morris here.”

“We met at a club that his Uncle owns”

“I see” the Officer says. I look at Jack and he nods. “Truth” He mouths to me. I close my eyes and nod.

“I assume you know that Mr. Morris is a teacher at your school?”

“Yes”

“Is he your teacher?”

“Yes” I say quietly and I look down at the floor.

“And are you and Mr. Morris dating?”

“Yes”

“I see” The Officer says again and he writes something down.

“But it’s not illegal” I say “I’m 18”

“Oh, well that changes some things.”

“Really?”

“Well, now he won’t get arrested. But you guys are still going to be in a heap load of trouble.”

I nod and I look at Jack. “What would happen if I quit my job?’

“Jack, No!”

“If you were to quit your job, Mr. Morris. Than No legal matters could be brought up against you or Ms. Hogan. Basically you’d get off scot free.”

“Then that’s what we will do.”

“Jack, don’t you think we should talk about this?”

“Jess, there’s nothing to talk about.”

“I’ll leave you two alone to talk for a bit. But I’ll be back to ask you questions about last night.” The Officer says and he walks out of our hospital room.

“Jack, you can’t quit! That is your dream job!”

“Jess, it’s either I quit and get a new teaching job or I get fired and get my teaching degree taken away, and you get expelled. Which would you prefer?”

“I hate it when you’re right” I mutter and Jack laughs a little.

“So it’s settled, when we go back on Thursday, I’ll talk to the big guy himself”

“What am I supposed to do without you there?

“Oh please, you have Mark and Liv”

“Yeah, but I want you there. I want you to be there when I have trouble.”

“Hey, I’m still going to be there. I’m just going to be at a different school.”

I look up at Jack and I nod. “Promise?”

“Jess, you are the love of my life. I will always be there for you.”

I smile and blush a little. After the Police come in and question us about the fire and such we are good to go. We get a ride back to the Bed & Breakfast and we get into Jack’s car.

“We should probably tell our parents” Jack says as he starts driving home.

“Yeah, might as well as get it over with now.”

“Should we tell them all at the same time?”

“Let’s tell them separately. I know my dad’s going to be really upset. I don’t want your parents seeing that”

Jack nods and takes my hand in his. “Okay, so we can tell your parents on Friday?”

“Okay, I’ll make us all dinner. Come over around 6:00 PM.”

“Okay, and I’ll invite my parents down to see my new apartment, and we can just break the news to them then and there.” Jack says

I nod “Hmm, I knew this day would come, but I can honestly say I just want to get it over with now. I mean no matter what they say, I love you and that will never change” I say looking over at Jack.

He smiles and nods “You have no idea how happy that makes me, when you say those three words”

I smile and lookout the passenger window. We finally pull up to his apartment complex and we walk upstairs.

“It has been a long ass day” I say as we ride up in the elevator. “Is Trevor going to be home?”

“Nope, he moved out with his new girlfriend or something”

I smile and nod “Okay” we get up to his apartment and I walk over and lie down on the couch.

“Please, make yourself at home” Jack says, laughing a bit.

I smile “Hey, I’m tired, leave me alone!”

“You do know I have a bed, right?”

“Yeah well this was the closest thing”

“Here, let me help you” Jack says and he walks over and scoops me up, bridal style and carries me into his bedroom

“Jack! Put me down!” I yell, laughing.

He puts me down on his bed and he crawls over on all fours, hovering over me.

“I love you” He whispers. He pulls me to him and lowered his lips to mine. I closed my eyes as our lips touched, feeling a zap of electricity. The room seemed to spin around me. I clutched desperately, never wanting this moment to end. I felt his hands pull me closer . . . as close as physically possible. The urgency in the kiss was unbearable. I wanted him; I wanted every fiber of his being. I ran my hands through his hair, pulled his face to mine. It was wonderful, perfect. I could almost see the fireworks . . .

“I love you too, Jack Morris”
