Chapter 9: The devil’s prey: Part One.

(Based on a true story: I have even met the person this happened to. Do you want me to tell you his name?)

Now there was a day when the sons of God (being translated ‘Angels’) came to present themselves before the Lord and Satan also came among them.

And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?”

So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”

Then Satan said to the Lord, “Behold you have put a hedge around this man,” (immediately a 3D image appeared in the centre of Satan’s palm, about 6 inches high and glowing a transparent light blue). “You have special plans for this one I think, however so do I….”

The Lord God was silent and allowed the serpent to speak.

“He is not yet one of yours and so he still belongs to me. He is my lawful prey as are all who have not bowed the knee to you and that carpenter from Nazareth.”

God answered him out of the midst of his throne.

“I do not interfere with my creation’s own free will. As you truly know I gave it to them and I will not violate my Holiness, my principles, statutes and laws by forcing any man or woman into submitting to me. This would be a dictatorship. Love, which you know nothing about, is a far better way.”

Satan interrupted the Lord by saying, “And so you admit that this man is my lawful prey.”

Smoke, lightening and flame issued from the throne room of God and a voice as many waters spoke out from the midst of the throne saying,

“I have said what I have said. The ones who worship me do so freely, willingly and do so in spirit and in truth.” He paused as Satan cowered before his throne a created creature and he knew it.

“Go now from my presence do what you have to do, but remember you are not allowed to kill him.”

Satan vanished with an evil smile on his face…
