Emily POV:
"I-I'm sorry. I didn't know who you were. So I was trying to see your face." I say.

"Get the fuck out, slut!" She yells at me.

Okay. That was rude.

"What?!" I scoff, and stand up.

"You heard me! Now get out, you fucking bitch!"

"What did I do?!" I yell at her.

She laughs bitterly, and looks at me.

"Get out. I don't want an STD."

"Wow. That was low."

"Oh, was it now? That's too bad."

"Seriously. You know what I want to know?" I ask angrily.

"What?" Alison questions bitterly, obviously not really caring.

"I want to know what I did to you. I want to know what was so awful that I did." I say.

"Get out, you fucking dyke." She says to me.

"So that's what it is. I'm lesbian. Well, I'm sorry I screwed your life up so much." I say as tears form in my eyes.

I walk back to my room, grab my shoes, and run downstairs.

"Hey, Emily!" Spencer says.

I guess she was the one making breakfast.

"Are you hungry? If you wake everyone else up, we could all eat together!" She says cheerfully.

"Not now, Spencer!" I say as tears fall down my cheeks.

I get in my car and drive away.

I arrive at my house and realize I left Tyler at the lake house/cabin.

Oh, well.

Mom and dad are in Texas anyways.

I run up to my room and grab my eyeliner sharpener.

Everywhere I go, I get dirty looks and remarks for being gay. People make nasty comments, make fun of me, and shoot me down like I'm a criminal.

When will the day come that I can just be myself without having to hide?

I take out the blade and examine it.

It scares me.

This object holds the barrier between life and death for me.

But I don't want to die.

I just want to escape the pain.

*If this bothers you, skip ahead*

I look at it one more time before sliding it across my left wrist.

Drops of blood form on my wrist and I slide it across again.

For every time Alison called me a name, or made fun of me.

I keep slicing open my skin as blood trickles down my arm.

One cut.

Two cuts.

Three cuts.

I lost count.

After I'm done, I wash off my arm, bandage up my wrist, and put the blade back into the sharpener.

*Continue*

I take a shower and do dark eye make up before getting dressed.

I get dressed in black leather jeans, a white cotton v-neck, a black leather jacket, black socks, black combat boots, and a black beanie.

It's about fifty degrees in Rosewood today, even though it's the summer.

The one reason I love this secluded town.

I grab my keys, and go outside and get on my black Honda motorcycle and speed around town.

As I'm driving around, I see the girls, Tyler, and the guys in The Brew.

I park my motorcycle and walk inside.

"Hey, Em!" I hear Hanna say.

"Hey." I reply, and sit down.

"Why'd you run out on us this morning?" Spencer asks me.

"I wasn't feeling well." Which is sort of the truth.

"You left me with a bunch of idiotic sophomores in a far away, middle of nowhere, secluded cabin." Tyler says.

"We are not idiotic!" Hanna says.

"You're right. Only you are." Tyler says with smirk as Hanna pouts and everyone else laughs.

"So...Who's up for lunch?" Toby asks.

"Me. But you're buying." Hanna says to him.

"Of course." Aria giggles.

"The Grille?" Caleb questions.

"Yeah. Meet you all there?" Spencer inquires.

"Fine by me." I say. "But I'm on my motorcycle. So Tyler is riding with one of you."

"He can ride with us." Spencer offers.

"Great." I say, and smile at them.

"Bye, Em! See you in a few." Tyler bids and sips the last of his coffee.

We all go to our rides, and head to The Grille.

Of course, Alison was there with Eden.

"Uh, I have a question." I say to Spencer.

"What is it?" She asks.

"Who gave Alison a ride home?"

Spencer laughs before answering.

"Hanna."

"Hanna?!" I ask shocked.

"Yeah. Hanna insisted on it."

"Oh, God..." I mutter.

"Yeah. After about fifteen minutes of them arguing."

I force a fake smile, and we all sit down at the table next to the window.

Alison POV:
I'm eating lunch at The Grille with Eden when I see Emily and all of her friends walk in.

I sigh, and look at them without them noticing.

My eyes eventually wonder to Emily's hands, and I notice something on her wrist.

After starting at it for a few seconds, I realize it's a bandage.

I look up to her eyes and they're puffier than usual.

Oh, my god...

No, no, no, no, no...

I pull out a twenty dollar bill and put it in the table before picking Eden up and leaving.

Emily POV:
I could see Alison staring at me through the corner of my eye.

But I was afraid to look at her.

After a couple minutes, she just got up and left.

Hanna was right...

Alison is making my life a living hell.
