Isabelle perspective

"Thank god he's gone," Ryan said to me as we left the beach.

"Let's go."

"It's not safe here. Why are you so afraid? It's not like you've seen a ghost," I retorted.

"Izzy, you're not going to believe what I saw. We'll talk in the car, not here," he replied.

I rolled my eyes. When we got into the car, Ryan started driving.

"Izzy, come on, talk to me. Why are you mad at me? What did I do?" Ryan asked.

"Seriously, Ryan? You're asking me what you did? Please! You were shitting in your pants in front of that man. You should have been fighting back. But you? You were like, you've seen a ghost, lol," I replied, annoyed.

"Izzy," he began, but I cut him off.

"Don't 'Izzy' me. If I wasn't with you, you would be dead for good," I said sharply.

"Izzy, baby, listen to me. It's not like you're going to believe me. But that man wasn't normal. I saw his eye color change from blue to pitch black. I think he's a vampire or a monster," Ryan explained.

"Oh, come on, Ryan. We're not in some kind of Wattpad or Episode app story. We live in the real world. There are no vampires, wolves, or monsters. You're hallucinating," I replied skeptically.

"Izzy, trust me," Ryan said.

I rolled my eyes. "So, here's my apartment. I think I should go. We'll talk in college. Jessica is waiting for me," I said, bidding Ryan goodbye.

As I entered the apartment, I saw Jessica sitting on the couch watching her favorite Netflix series, Stranger Things.

"Ahhh, Izzy, you're back. How was your date?" she asked excitedly.

I threw my bag on the table and sat down behind her on the couch. "Tell me, bitch, how was your date? Did you lose your virginity? Tell me, tell me. What was the surprise? Girl, spill the tea," she bombarded me with questions.

"Calm down, Jess. You're not going to believe what happened today," I began.

"How will I know when you're not telling me anything?" she retorted sardonically.

So, I recounted everything about my date, including what happened at the beach, the mysterious man, the magical dinner with Ryan, the walk to the beach, Ryan's revelation about our upcoming trip to Paris, our kiss, the man claiming me, and beating up Ryan. She listened to me attentively, like a psychotherapist listens to her patient.

"What?" she exclaimed in shock. "Izzy, are you okay?" she asked with concern.

"Yeah, I'm okay. I'm thinking, who was he?" I replied to Jess.

"By your explanation, I think he was a mafia leader," Jess speculated.

"No, bro, I don't think so. Why would a mafia leader be interested in me? Forget about it," I dismissed the idea.

"Tell me, was that mysterious man hot or not?" Jess inquired mischievously.

A blush crept onto my face. "Oh my my, you're blushing," Jess teased.

"I haven't seen a man like him. He's like a model we see in swimsuit commercials. He was beyond perfection," I admitted.

"Oh, Izzy, I think you have a crush on him," Jess teased further.

"Oh please, Jess," I replied, rolling my eyes. "I like Ryan. I'm not going to cheat on him. I'm loyal to him. And also, it was nighttime. I didn't see the mysterious man properly. Who knows, he might be an old man," I reasoned.

We both laughed. "Okay, I'm going to sleep. We have college tomorrow, and I don't want to be late," I announced, bidding Jess goodnight before heading to bed.

The next morning, my alarm woke me up at 7:30. I groggily made my way to the bathroom to take a shower. After 45 minutes, I returned to my room and got dressed. I chose a black top and blue shorts because why not? I love wearing whatever I like.

I went downstairs, where Jess was drinking her coffee.

"Morning," Jess greeted me with a smile. "You're looking hot. Ryan's lucky, though."

"Haha, thanks, bub," I replied, joining her for breakfast.

After breakfast, Jess and I headed to college. Today's schedule was packed with classes: ethics, entrepreneurship, idea generation, business strategy, and marketing. Ugh, kill me now.

During a break, I saw Ryan with his face covered in injuries. I approached him.

"Hello, Ryan, how are you feeling now?" I asked with concern.

"I'm okay now, baby," he replied, kissing me on the cheek. "I'll see you later," he added before leaving.

"Izzy, let's go," Jess called out to me.

"Okay, I'm coming," I replied as we headed back to class.

As the day progressed, one of the seniors announced a pool party hosted by the social club. Jess was ecstatic about it and insisted that we attend. Despite my reluctance, I agreed to go with her, knowing that Ryan would be by my side. However, I couldn't shake off the incident from the other day.

Time passed without any major events, and I felt relieved that things were getting better. Me and Ryan were back to normal in our relationship. After Thursday's classes, Jess and I planned to go shopping at the mall for the party.

After returning home, I went straight to bed, feeling tired from the day's events. Tomorrow was my day off, and I was going to enjoy it without any worries.

The next day, Jess woke me up, urging me to get ready for the party in the evening. Reluctantly, I got out of bed, knowing that I couldn't escape Jess's enthusiasm. Today was going to be interesting, to say the least.
