Ishita wore a silk shirt and pants after a good shower. The sleep was far away from her eyes after she ducked herself in the thick comforter. The doubts she blocked started to bother her again making her restless. Ishita sat aback unable to get a wink of sleep, she needed some distraction.
iPad!
A few seconds later she recalled carrying her iPad along which she kept in Raman's laptop bag. Ishita walked towards the walk-in closet with haste steps and took out his bag from the closet. She didn't care to zip back his bag after taking her iPad out and dumping it over the ottoman placed next to her. She was about to hop back on the bed when something shiny in silver color grabbed her attention. Ishita kneeled to take a look at the medicine lying on the rug, she read the name and a frown covered her forehead.
***************************
It was half-past two according to the local time of the Maldives when Raman finished off his call with one of the international clients, Mr. Tandon. He finished another cup of coffee to save himself from the throbbing headache and turned off the laptop thinking about his wife. it's just ishita who rules his mind most of the time and his work seems a distraction. This woman is ruling his heart and mind right after their marriage whether he wants it or not. He turned off the lights of his study and took steps towards the opposite side of the floor where their master bedroom is located. He kept his steps slow so that he don't disturb her sleep but to his surprise, his wife was wide awake. The lights of the room were dimmed it was just the silvery lights of the moon that covered half of their room. His heart throbbed loudly seeing her beautiful face glowing in the moonlight and his ears heated in anticipation.
He cleared his throat before calling her name, not in an intention to scare her. "Ishita."
"Hmm" Ishita hummed in response without looking at him. Raman kept his laptop on the coffee table and stood next to her, leaning his half of the body against the wooden casing. "Are you feeling some difficulty? Shall I call a doctor?"
"No. I am fine." Ishita spoke in a monosyllable tone wounding her arms against her chest.
"You can tell me Ishita, we can consult your doctor. Your health is very much crucial for me." Raman softly pressed palms, their eyes met briefly before Ishita passed something in his hands. Raman sighed looking at the stripes of medicines and putting them aside. "When you were planning to tell me about this?" Ishita broke the silence looking at Raman.
"It's nothing Ishita. Mihir shoved it forcefully in my bag."
"This is not the answer to my question Raman." The one stern look from Ishita was enough to put him, mum. "You were unwell as well Ishita and it's not a big issue."
"You still didn't answer my question." Ishita remained persistent eyeing intensely at her husband.
"Four days after our last fight. I was tensed and worried after you left me." Raman stopped for a brief time looking at Ishita, who was staring at him with soft eyes. "I felt everything slipped away from my hands. I was not ready to lose you Ishita." Ishita blinked her eyes feeling the mist covering her eyes.
"You are the most important person of my life Ishita, the six months of long-distance made me realize the same." The distance decreased between them, Raman held Ishita's palms, softly in his hands. "I had chest pain that afternoon, my staff assumed it's heart stroke but it was chest pain due to hypertension. I was advised to take a rest. I told Maa that I am going to Bangalore but I was in Delhi only, took a rest in my office. I assumed it's only me who suffered from our separation but the truth was something else."
