edit: got rid of bad description that was unneeded. also fixed part of the backstory regarding the lightsaber

edit 2: further fixed the lightsaber backstory. it's a natural kyber that is red, not a synthetic crystal or a corrupted one.

Inside the cave, they descended into a short tunnel made completely of cold blue ice. They were all relieved to be out of the snowstorm and freezing gusts. At the end of the passage, the small route suddenly opened into a gargantuan, circular room.

The ceiling of the great chamber towered high above them, seeming to have no end. In the middle of the huge room stood two stone statues of cloaked figures holding lightsabers. At the back of the chamber was a sheet of ice, which looked like a waterfall that had been frozen in motion.

"Welcome," a voice spoke from the centre of the room. The younglings bowed their heads respectfully as they saw Master Yoda's small green body perched upon a smooth, round stone dais.

"We as Jedi have a great responsibility, yes? The Force made physical, we are." The Raxshir Clan nodded.

"The weapon of a Jedi, what is? How do we protect others and keep the peace? Hmmm?" The wise Jedi drew a lightsaber out from beneath his cream-coloured robes. He levitated the weapon and activated it with a deep and resonant thrum. A bright green blade emerged from the lightsaber hilt, casting a soft jade light onto the grey cobbles at the younglings' feet.

Gasps of wonder and awe erupted from the pupils' mouths.

Hesitantly y/n unclipped his own double-bladed lightsaber from his belt and ignited it. His shone with a deep red glow.

"Mmmm, yes, young y/n l/n. New plans for your lightsaber, have you?" Master Yoda asked. His expression seemed concerned; y/n knew that it was because of his lightsaber's colour, and the youngling turned it off.

They had tried to persuade him to change the colour of his lightsaber. But however much y/n tried to purify the crystal, it stubbornly stayed the same stubborn shade of red. The problem was, it wasn't synthetic or one that had bled in the first place. It was an actual kyber, one that had somehow naturally assumed the hue.

Slowly, everyone became accustomed to, or at least tolerated the red double-bladed weapon. It had been deemed a strange working of the Force. After all, it was only after the death of Qui-Gon Jinn that the Jedi Order as a whole had been reminded of the existence of the Sith. Prior to that event, a crimson lightsaber would have been strange, but not controversial.

But it remained an internal struggle for y/n. He bordered on addressing his past and moving on into the future.

"Nevertheless, create your own lightsabers, you must," Master Yoda said gravely, addressing all the younglings now.

"But first, to harvest a kyber crystal from these great caves, is needed." y/n and Ahsoka glanced at each other and grinned excitedly. "The heart of the lightsaber, a crystal is. Focuses the Force from the Jedi, it does. Mmmm, yes." Master Yoda continued.

With that, the Grandmaster retrieved his lightsaber and tucked it into his cloak. He turned his head to the ceiling and raised his small, clawed, green hands, drawing in the Force.

As the younglings watched, a large stone hatch slid open in the ceiling, letting the sunlight stream in. The previously dark space was brightened. Now, they could see a huge, mosaic infused roof, inscribed with ancient runes and exquisite patterns.

But the most beautiful detail was the huge, gleaming kyber crystal suspended from the ceiling. With his eyes closed, Master Yoda maneuvered the crystal around so that the sunlight hit a particular section of the giant crystal.

The light reflected off the kyber and the whole ceiling was dappled in bright patches of luminous light. The crystal itself shone with glory, its edges glinting delicately, its smooth, transparent structure shimmering and sparkling with elegance.

Directed by the angle of the kyber, the light hit another, smaller crystal at the edge of the wall, which in turn reflected the light onto the top of the frozen waterfall. The warmth shone onto the frozen wall, and swiftly, the ice melted.

The water trickled down the frozen waterfall, until the entire wall had thawed. A system of small gutters in the flooring directed the water away until there was nothing but a few wet bricks.

The amazed younglings could only gape at the sight.

"Now, in you go," Master Vos chided. "But you must come out in time. If you don't, you'll be trapped inside; unable to get out for another rotation."

"That doesn't seem so bad," y/n whispered to Ahsoka.

"I heard from someone that the sun only rises every fourteen days on Ilum," she told him.

"In that case, we better hurry!" he said, readying himself to dash into the looming caves.

"Wait! How do we know if a crystal is ours?" Emee hissed.

"Feel it, you will. And only you, feel it shall," Master Yoda nodded gravely.

"Now hurry!" Master Vos called to them.

The Raxshir Clan glanced back at the older Jedi and hesitantly stepped into the gloom of the Caves. This was it. The Gathering.

Above them, the great waterfall was alreadystarting to freeze again.
