His pursuit of the man didn't last long, around fifteen minutes.
Takashi already expected that the man lived close to the restaurant he was before, since he at no moment showed any signs of calling for a cab or going to the train station.
The neighborhood he lived was of middle class, with medium sized to small houses around him, and easy to access it.
Once the man entered his house, a one floor building, Takashi made sure to engrave in his mind the location, the name of the street, the name of the neighborhood, the appearance of the house and all of other references in relation to it.
At this moment he couldn't do anything. If he simply went to threaten the man, he could be easily overpowered and end up killed. He might have the skill [Basic Combat Knowledge] but he didn't have any fighting experience. He have the knowledge but he didn't the instinct and experience that came from experience many fights, and he also didn't knew nothing about that man. He might very well have being part of the army for all he knew, and thus having real life combat experience.
Risking advancing on him now would be a mistake.
Not only that but Takashi also needed information in regard that man co-conspirators. Even if Takashi advanced on him now and won, there was no guarantee that he would give them away to Takahi. They might have incriminating materials against that man, so he would choose to save his skin and being beaten up by Takashi if it came to that.
Takashi also couldn't threat to kill him, since he didn't knew that he could bring himself to it. Despite having being reborn in another world, the values in regard to life and death on this world were basically the same as his previous one.
He couldn't treat life so easily as to simply decide to kill someone with his own hands.
If he threatens that man with death and didn't deliver it, the man would conclude that Takashi wasn't a real threat, but just an harmless kid. Takashi by that point could use his skills given by the system to ruin the mans life, but before it happened he might very well do something that would affect his family in the future.
He needed to treat this as carefully as he did with Eiichi. He couldn't let that man discover who he was, so just barging against him now, without nothing to cover his face and knowing nothing about him would be a complete waste.
Knowing that right now wasn't the right time to act, once he learned everything he could about where that man lived that was at his sight, Takashi decided to go back home.
Since walking his way home wasn't an option, since he didn't lived that close to this place, he took a cab back home.
On his way back, he couldn't help himself but to think about the amount of work that he would have to investigate that man and the people associated with him. In Yurika's case was much more easy, since it was someone in the same line of business as her father and Eiichi was targeting her himself for some time.
But the man targeting Otome was a different story. He had developed an interest on her just today and Takashi didn't knew anything more about him but where e lived. Not only that but the house could very well not even be his, but belong to someone he knows and he could just be living it or using it temporarily.
There were a lot of factors that would make his work much more difficult, specially since this time he would go after a lot of people, not just one, and there was a real possibility that some of them might have an important position among authorities or a connection to them that allowed them to do whatever they want, like with Eiichi.
He would use his skill [Network Connection] to search any information possible at this very moment if he could, but he already had used earlier at school, so he needed to start his research at home.
He also decided that he would try to find a way so that Otome would enter his harem, if possible.
He wasn't a person that thought only with his lower head, trying to bring every possible hentai character to his harem in development.
He already cared for the women of his family, his sisters, cousins and Yuria, so bringing them was a must, and Yariko was a character of his previous life that he always had an interest but the same couldn't be said about the all the other characters of that story.
Saeko was sexy, of course, but her circumstances were different from Otome. Saeko had sex in exchange for money by her own volition, without any kind of external factors affecting her decision. At some point in the future Takashi might think of adding her to his future harem, but right now their relationship could only be described as one of business, a client and a seller.
Otome on the other hand was a victim of circumstance. She befriended the worst possible people, a little girl with extreme jealousy towards her and a rotten heart and a boy that was so weak willed that he end up tricking himself for years instead of trying to protect her from day one.
There's no way that he could allow to her be with that lower than beta childhood friend.
Once he arrived he went directly to his room, with his mind completely focused on the amount of work he had to do.
But after he opened his door, all thoughts left his mind.
