"Yah!!!" D cheered as he ran around in circles on the main deck of the Mary.
"What are you doing?" Nami asked, slightly amazed since he had been doing it for the last twenty minutes. The guy had endless energy.
"It's my birthday today!" D yelled without slowing.
"Congrats." Robin and Luffy congratulated him.
"How come this is the first time I'm hearing about your birthday?" Robin asked.
"Uh!" D stopped in his tracks, hesitating. "Mass transportation!" He shouted as a bright light engulfed everything.
"What's going on?" Everyone cried out in surprise as the found themselves in a bright white room. "Where are we?"
"This is a personal dimension of father's." Tranquility answered them from behind. Standing beside her was Tempest and Current. Tempest didn't look happy.
"How'd you get out of prison?!" Tempest yelled at D.
"Strutting out the front door like a peacock." D answered before running away cackling.
"What?!" Tempest asked confused.
"Ignore him." Nami pat her shoulder. "He's easier to manage if you don't let him get under your skin."
"I'm already under your skin." D popped up next to them startling them. "See?" He waved his hand over their arms and little versions of themselves crawled our from under their skin causing them to scream. "Just kidding." He laughed as their arms returned to normal suddenly.
"It was an illusion." A white haired boy chuckled stepping out from behind Luffy and the other guys.
"Hello Frost." Tranquility smiled as she waved.
"Hey Quil." He waved back.
"Who are you?!" All the Strawhats asked simultaneously.
"Frost." He smiled. "Nice to meet you."
"What are we doing here?" Nami asked D once he seemed to calm down.
"Well I had to bring everyone together for the party." He answered. "This was the easiest place to gather. Plus he couldn't come otherwise."
"Who?"
"That would be me." A young man with brown hair and glasses walked out of the wall. "Hello everyone. D."
D gave a bow. "Good to see you buddy."
"Who are you?" Robin asked curiously. She looked at D's daughters to see if they recognized him. They all seemed quite mad at his appearance.
"You wouldn't know me from anywhere you've been. Some people know me as 87firestrike." 87firestrike introduced himself. "But just call me dander." He smiled.
"Umm?" Nami was confused. And she wasn't the only one. "Who exactly is this guy?"
"He's a friend of mine who's helping me tell the story of my life." D answered.
"Though we're going out of order a little." Dander laughed. "I'm currently telling the time he spent with you guys."
"What do you mean?" Ussop asked as he hid behind Zoro. "And don't lie or I'll send my two thousand warriors to get you!"
"Simply put, I'm telling a story of D's life so that more people are aware of what he went through." Dander answered his question.
"But what did you mean by telling the time he spent with us?" Sanji stepped forward.
"Well that's actually self explanatory." Dander chuckled. "Think about it this way. You can read history books about things that happened right?" Everyone nodded. "So that's what's happening."
"Wait wait." Nami suddenly was worried. "Are you saying that your telling a history story about what D did with us?" She asked. "As in its already happened?!"
"Sounds about right." Dander nodded.
"What?!" The rest of the crew, minus Robin who was calm about the whole thing, exclaimed in surprise.
"That can't be possible!" Ussop shouted. "We experiencing it right now!"
"You guys are getting worked up over nothing." Robin chuckled. "We've spent enough time with D that little things like this shouldn't surprise us."
"Little?!" Ussop screamed.
"Robin's right." Sanji stepped forward. "And beautiful too!" His eyes turned into hearts. "Can I make anything for you?"
"Some tea would be nice." Robin answered.
"Right away my dear!" Sanji skipped away.
"Me two." Nami called out.
"I wonder when he's going to come back." D wondered aloud. "I haven't made a kitchen in here or anything."
It only took a minute for Sanji to wander back to ask D for a kitchen. When he did D also gave him instructions for cake and food for the birthday party.
"Do you think it was alright telling them about the story?" D asked dander after pulling him to the side while everyone started decorating.
"Why can't you just put them up with a wave of your hand?" Tempest yelled from the top of a ladder. "I can't even tell what I'm attaching these things too!" She waved a banner around.
"It's for the principle!" D yelled back. "I can't do everything for you!"
"Course it's fine." Dander chuckled as Tempest continued putting the banner up. She appearantly didn't realize she was putting it up upside down. "You know everyone forgets what happens here. That's why Robin doesn't remember your birthday. You always brought her here."
"It was a rough time for her." D shrugged. "It was nice to remove her from the world even if just for a day."
"It think she does remember her visits here a little." Dander glanced at the woman. "Even if it is only subconsciously."
D looked over to Robin who was pulling up tables from the floor. "Seems your right. I didn't explain to anyone that they could make things from nothing here like I do." Nami was over by Robin asking how she was doing that. Robin seemed confused as well but didn't seem to bothered by it.
"Do you mind if I make a few announcements for our readers?" Dander asked D. "They don't have anything to do with you and your story, well not all of them do."
"Go ahead." D chuckled. "I'm going to go help with decorations."
"Thank you." Dander smiled as D ran over to Luffy and showed him how to stretch streamers across the room with the Gum-Gum powers.
Here are the announcements. First off it has now been one year since Devil's Grin has been first posted. We are currently sitting around 7k views for this story which is awesome for a first story's first year. All off you followers have been a huge help in keeping this story going so a big thank you to all of you out there.
Announcement for DIRT, my RWBY FANFIC. First chapter will be put up next Wednesday. Yay!! For all the readers that have followed me since I first announced that I will be releasing a RWBY FANFIC you should be excited. For the followers that have been with from before that announce ment I hope you check it out. Let's see if we can get more than 7k for DIRT in its first year. I don't really expect it to happen since I will only be posting chapters for DIRT once a month on the last Wednesday each month. The reason for such slow posts is to allow me to keep my main focus on Devil's Grin. Once Devil's Grin is finished I'll put more time to DIRT while preparing book two for Devil's Grin. Which will be called The Devil's Run. A name I got from Doctor Who. Anyone curious should watch the series, it's awesome.
Announcement for Infected. For those that read the sneak peak for Infected and is looking forward to it I'm sorry. Between Devil's Grin and DIRT I haven't been able to put alot of time towards it. Plus it's really hard to do original work. It will probably be a while before it or any other original work is released but I do want to release some. I've got lots of ideas and my fanfic have really improved my writing skills. Now back to the party!
Dander quickly made his way over where everyone was singing happy birthday while eating plates of food. The party lasted for hours before anyone started falling asleep from exhaustion. When they woke up the next day they were back where they had been before going to the alternate dimension. None of them could remember what happened or why they had birthday hats on and was covered in confetti.
