(A/N)
Here she is. And she's a beauty.
Love you guys. Hope you're having a good weekend :)
*********
Mitch walked out onto the grass section behind the building, seeing Avi standing in the center of the grass, while the other Alphas took laps around it.
Mitch got to him quickly, and tugged on Avi's shirt nervously.
Avi glanced behind him. "Hey, Peanut. What's up?"
"My Alpha is in pain. Where is he?"
Avi scanned the group of Alphas, and pointed to the blonde that was in the front of the group. "Over there. His shoulder was hurting earlier, with the push ups we did. So he should be alright now, since we're running instead."
Mitch watched his Alpha run, leading the other Alphas. "Oh... I hope he's okay."
"I'm sure he's fine, Tiny. Did you want to stick around to be sure? When he's done, you can just ask him." Avi suggested.
Mitch nodded, reaching over to grab Avi's hand. "If I may, thank you."
Avi held his hand gently, but used his other hand to grab his phone and check the time. He looked back over to the group of Alphas, and shouted in their direction. "If you want to make the six minute mile, you have less than a minute to finish!"
Mitch watched Scott for a little, and then looked over to Avi. "My Alpha can run a six minute mile?"
"He can run it in five. But I made him promise to stay with the others, just for the day, so the others don't get discouraged."
Mitch nodded slowly, and watched as the runners finished before slowly walking over to Avi, all panting significantly.
Scott continued running though, jogging over to Mitch, and then setting a hand on Mitch's back as soon as he reached him. "What are you doing out here, baby?"
"Wanted to check on you." Mitch answered quietly, a little intimidated by all the athletic Alphas that surrounded him.
Scott smiled at him, and ducked his head down to kiss Mitch quickly. "Aw. That's sweet of you. I'm fine, though."
"Your shoulder is okay?"
"Yes, baby."
"Promise?"
"I promise."
Avi was glaring at him. "Hey, lovebirds, are you quite finished? We've got more work to do."
Scott glanced over quickly. "Oh, I'm sorry, Alpha."
Mitch kept his eyes down, because he felt like everyone was staring at him. "My apologies, Sir. I'll leave."
Scott pressed a quick kiss to Mitch's forehead, and then he jogged back over to Avi, and the rest of the Alphas.
Mitch watched him go, and then turned to walk back inside the building.
Avi gestured to Scott, all the other Alpha's eyes on him. "So, that was Mitchell, in case you forgot. He came out here to check on Scott, because Scott's been having shoulder problems. Don't know if that was part of the story you heard about the defeat of the First Alpha, but it was a very important detail."
One Alpha cleared his throat. "Well, I don't know about everyone else, but I got the story in full detail. Scott's shoulder... The Omega leading the Alphas into The Counsel, and basically saving the day by finding a safe path to the First... And then you, Alpha, finally killing him."
Another Alpha added on. "Yeah, that's what I heard too. One of the Alphas from the experience... Tyler, I think? Made like a blog or video channel or something like that. It was one of his most popular videos."
Avi nodded slowly. "Oh... That's interesting. I'll have to watch it sometime."
A few of the Alphas laughed, only one brave enough to speak up. "You've never seen it? Did you guys look at anything like that? The articles, newspapers, videos...?"
Avi shrugged. "I guess not. Kevin might've, but I know I didn't."
"Why not?" Someone asked.
Avi glanced at Scott for a minute, but he looked equally as curious as everyone else. "Well... I guess... The Pack just... Wanted to forget about it. As far as I know, It was the scariest day of the Omegas' life, especially Mitchell. I know I didn't want to think about it, after having to see Scott nearly get killed. So I guess... We were just avoiding it."
***********
Todrick reached up to put yet another book back in it's respective place in the bookshelf.
Kevin walked up behind him, setting his chin on Todrick's shoulder. "Are you absolutely sure we finished it all? I feel like we missed stuff."
"Well Scott had already done most of it. And then to split it between two of us, made it go by quicker."
"I see... I don't quite understand why Scott is stuck inside doing work. They should've assigned him outside with the other Alphas."
"I think he was just doing Albert's job. When Albert is here, he'll take care of it."
"Even then, they didn't tell him to go outside with the others. Why are they keeping him inside?"
Todrick finally sighed. "I don't have an answer for you, Kev."
Kevin frowned and moved away from him. "Okay. We'll just ask Albert the next time we see him. Want to work on the wedding some more?" He asked excitedly.
Todrick turned and smirked. "You mean Scott's, or ours?"
Kevin's breath hitched in his throat for a second. "Will you please stop doing that?"
"Why?"
"You're being suggestive."
"No I am not. I was only asking a question."
Kevin pouted. "I meant Scott's wedding. We still need to send the invitations. He wants the wedding to be next week."
"We can do that."
"How do you know?"
Todrick reached forward to grab his hand, sensing how uncertain he was about himself. "Please. We're Betas. What can't we do?"
Kevin chuckled a little, and leaned forward to peck his lips once. "You have so much confidence, I absolutely love it. Never ever lose that, okay?"
"I won't." Todrick assured, smiling up at Kevin. "You could be confident too, if you wanted."
"No, it's not that. I just love your personality so much... It is like cynosure. I am in absolute limerence whenever I am around you." Kevin elaborated kindly.
Todrick grinned even wider. "You're such a sweetheart. I know when you're being honest because you use gigantic words..."
Kevin chuckled a little too. "It's almost like... A nervous habit."
"Aw, Kevy... You're not nervous around me, are you?"
Kevin looked down, although he was still holding one of Todrick's hands. "Sometimes. And I know that's silly, after everything we've been through. But... I just never want to mess up in front of you. Just.. Because I really respect your opinion, and I take your perception of me very seriously."
"Baby... I--"
Scott interrupted him as he walked into the room. "Excuse me, 'Smarty-Pants Duo.' I have a quick question. Avi made me come inside to finish this paper thing..."
Kevin pulled his hand away, and walked over to Scott to look at the paper the Alpha was holding. "Oh, this is just a simple report. All it's asking for is your opinion, the answer doesn't have to be right."
"I know. But that's why I'm here. I want your opinion instead of mine."
"Why?"
"Is that really a question?" Scott asked with a slight chuckle.
Kevin frowned at him. "You're smarter than you give yourself credit for. But I can help if you really want."
"Yes, please."
Kevin sighed, looking at Todrick. "Do you have a pen I could borrow?"
