We started moving in the bubble under water. "How did you learn to do this?" I asked.
"My brother" he replied.
"What, I thought you were an only child"
"Percy, remember"
"Oh right. Wait, doesn't that make Annabeth your sister in-law"
"Ha, I never thought about that"
We were racing towards the surface now. I looked over at James and saw that his hands were up and moving forwards, ever so slighly, like he was slowly pushing an invisible wall.
We were just about to hit the surface now. The bubble popped. I closed my eyes, knowing that I might sink again and this would slow us down. Then I felt a glassy feeling from under my legs.
I looked down to see that we were sliming across the water.
"Whooooo hooooo!" I screamed.
I had never felt so happy.
James looked over at me and smiled genuinely. I don't think he knew I saw him.
Wow I thought He might like me. He might not just say things to say them, he might actually mean them.
I flipped into my back and looked at the sky as we skidded across the water.
"Wait, what about the mortals?" I asked sitting up.
"The Mist. It's what covers up all the monsters and stuff"
I nodded my head and laid back down. This. Was. Awesome!
I laughed really hard.
I was really sad when we reached the docks and climbed onto shore.
"How do we get back?" I asked
"I don't know. I only feel drawn towards water"
"How are we dry?" I asked.
"Me, myself and I" he replied.
It was late afternoon by now and all we were doing was wandering through the streets, having no clue what to do.
"Wait!" James yelled and everyone on the street looked at him.
"What?"
"The taxi!" He said, like I should know.
Then he whistled.
A taxi came swerving though the streets. It wasn't just any taxi, though. It was a transparent gray cloud on wheels.
"How much you got" an old creaky voice said.
"2 drachmas" James said while I stood there looking like an idiot with my mouth open.
"Where you wanna go?" The voice asked.
"To the Camp Half-Blood tour group" James replied.
"Ahh. Lost lovers. Stray from the group we-"
"We're not together" James and I cut the voice off.
"Mm-k then" the voice chuckled, "Well I sense that they are very far away, and that you have more money."
"Fine three" James declared.
"Wise boy" the voice said,"Get in".
