Spencers POV
"Okay, so, what're we doing?" I ask Yelena as we make our way to my and Nats room, I'm walking backwards in front of Yelena.
"I'm not telling you that yet," she deadpans.
"Uh, then how will I know what to wear?" I question her.
She rolls her eyes. "Wear warm and comfy clothes."
I stop dead in my tracks. "The hell could we be doing in warm and comfy clothes?" For a bachelorette party?
"You'll see. Just go get dressed. You, too, Nat," she says looking back at her.
"Okay. But I'm with Spencer on this one. What the hell could we be doing in warm and comfy clothes?"
"Will you two just trust me? Please?"
I smile at her, "of course. You just know how I like to be prepared. This is me not being able to do that. I'm trying."
"I know. I'll tell you once we're all downstairs, okay? I promise everything will be taken care of."
"Okay, I trust you, of course," I then turn on my heels and go to get changed along with Nat.
"Have you seen my favorite pair of joggers, love?" I call out to Nat as I dig through my drawer of joggers. Yes, I have a drawer full. Nat always steals them.
"Um.. the gray ones?"
"Yes!" I turn around thinking she found them.
She did.
She's wearing them.
"Sorry, bub. I can pick a different pair?"
"Hell no. You look incredible in them," I walk up to her and pick her up, swinging her around.
Her laughter fills the air, something I could never tire of hearing.
I slowly lower her until we're face to face, placing my lips on hers as she grows closer.
Once I place her back on the ground I keep our foreheads together, "I can not wait for you to be my wife." I'm smiling like an idiot. A very happy idiot.
"Mm I love that. You're going to be my wife in the matter of days. I can kiss you anytime I want."
"Oh, please kiss me every time you want. Anywhere. Anytime."
Then there's a banging on the door. "Hey! Hurry up in there!" It's Yelena.
"Okay! Okay. We're on our way."
"Better get some joggers on then, huh?"
"Yes," Nat gives me a serious look.
I just grab my second favorite pair of joggers, plus an extra pair. And an extra hoodie. I get really cold and I like to be prepared.
Don't worry, I grab some extra for Nat too.
We finally open the door to a bored looking Yelena.
"About damn time. You guys took fore.. wait. Why do you have a bag?"
"Uh, you told us to be warm and comfy. I'm bringing extra. Just in case," 'cause, duh.
She rolls her eyes dramatically. "Let's just go down to everyone else."
"Teleport?"
"Yes."
So we did.
Only to find a bunch of packed bags surrounding the front door.
"Um? Are we going on a trip? Because that entails a whole different level of being prepared," I say shaking my head and already backing up to go back to our room.
Yelena grabs my arm. "Nope. We already have a bag packed for you."
"Uh.. I feel like you might have forgotten something. I should probably grab a bag just in.."
"Spence."
"Yeah?"
"I used your checklist."
"Oh.."
"Come on. I know you."
I can't help but smile. "Thank you! So now can I know where we're going?"
Yelena laughs at me. "Once everyone gets here from wherever they went, yes."
"Damn them for disappearing."
It wasn't long after that that they all filtered in. All of them also dressed cozy.
"Okay, so...?!"
"We're camping!" Yelena informs us with enthusiasm.
"Yes!" I throw my arms up and then use them to hug Yelena, almost tackling her to the ground.
She catches us though, wrapping her arms around me.
Once I'm over my initial excitement, I look over to see Nats reaction.
She is not impressed.
"Camping? We're camping for my bachelorette party?"
"Well, yeah?" Yelena's doesn't know what to say.
"Why?"
"Because Spencer has never camped before and has always wanted to?"
"What about what I want?"
"Wow. Okay. Well I know you always love when we have girls nights, which we will do. We can get drunk, also something you like. Oh, and, I don't know. You get to cozy up to Spencer in a tent?"
Nat clenched her jaw. So I take the moment to pull her away.
"Hey, love. If you don't want to camp, we don't have to. We'll go find a bar or something?" I suggest.
She shakes her head. "No.. I'm sorry. I just didn't expect.. camping. And I know you've wanted to for awhile. And I want to camp with you. I just.. kind of expected us to camp alone."
"Well, we will have plenty of time to camp alone. Being your wife, we will have a whole lifetime to camp just about anytime you want."
She smiles. "Mm, is that a promise?"
"It absolutely is a promise."
"Okay. I suppose camping with all of the girls will be fun.."
"Are you kidding? This is going to be a blast!" My energy level is back to where it was when she first told me.
I lead Nat back to the group, both of us with smiles.
"Way to work your magic there, Spence. Seems Nat is excited to camp now. What did you promise her?" Valkyrie speaks up.
I see Carol elbow her. And Val gives her a weird look.
"That is not for your ears to hear," I smirk. Which makes Nat elbow me.
Oops.
"So where are we camping?" Let's bring this situation back around.
"Well, we know how much you love the woods near my parents so.."
"Are we camping where I proposed to Nat?!"
"Yes. Hopefully that's okay? And hopefully you don't mind teleporting everything and everyone," Yelena says, giving me her biggest smile.
"Oh, sure. Make me work for MY bachelorette party," I lace it with sarcasm, but I'm already going to move the bags.
"Oh, please. You need to keep up with your powers anyway. You're getting a little laz.."
"Don't finish that sentence," I say pointing at Yelena in a mock serious tone.
She raises her hands. "Promise this is all you'll have to worry about."
"Fine. Deal."
It really didn't bother me. It's something that barely takes five minutes.
Then.. there was all of us to teleport.
"So, I could teleport us a few people at a time."
"But.." Nat knows me so well.
"But.. I was thinking about trying to teleport us all at the same time," I say with some excitement.
"Um.. have you done that before?" Hope asks.
"Not with this many people. Well, I've made this many people invisible, but not teleported."
"Uh..."
"I don't have to. Just thought it'd be fun to try."
"What could happen? Like if it doesn't work? Would like.. half our bodies be here and the other half there?" Val asks.
I laugh at them. "Okay, maybe you all are the ones that watch too much tv."
They're still expecting me to explain.
"No, your bodies won't be torn in half. The only thing that has happened is it didn't get teleported. Look, if you don't want me to, I don't have to. No big deal," I shrug.
"I trust her," Wanda says, making me beam. That's all I really want. Their trust.
Slowly everyone else agrees.
"Okay. This is going to be great." I crack my neck and stretch my arms. I don't really need to, but it's how they seem to get ready in movies.
Okay. Maybe I'm the one that watches too much tv.
"Um.. I need everyone as close to me as possible."
"Don't you have to be touching us?" Hope asks.
"Good observation. I don't know. But this just secures your safety even more. If I really can't teleport anything without touching it, then you just won't teleport," I shrug.
"You make it seem like something might happen otherwise."
"No. Promise. I don't break my promises."
"This is true. She doesn't," Yelena backs me up.
Everyone gathers around me and I try to focus as much as I can and, well, teleport.
I open my eyes once I feel a light breeze and look around me.
Nope. Still only teleported the people that I was in contact with.
"Damn."
"I'm sorry, bub," Nat kisses my cheek.
"It's alright. I'll go get everyone else if you want to start setting up? But not all of it because I kind of want to help set up, too." This is my first time camping, after all.
"Promise."
"Don't worry, Spencer. I'll leave a tent for you," Wanda says as she starts using her wiggly woos to move everything around.
That really would be a cool power to have.
Time for me to show off mine again.
A few minutes later, we're all at the site, unloading everything.
We talk and crack jokes, helping the work move along quickly.
(Along with Wandas powers.)
This trip is looking up already.
