Konohagakure
Sasuke looked around and saw Choji and Ino looking at Kurenai sadly. Kurenai was crying in front of Asuma's grave as she laid a red flower on it.
"Asuma Sensei. I promise to help your students avenge your death."Sasuke thought as he clenched his fist.
He looked up and wondered "Where are you Shikamaru?"
With Shikamaru
Shikamaru, a lazy genius ninja, who would often say the word 'troublesome' was lying on a roof of a shop holding the lighter. It was a brand new one which Asuma bought after he lost his old one.
He remembered how sad Asuma was when he came to Team 10 one day after he lost his lighter.
A light chuckle went out of the lazy Nara. He quickly stopped chuckling and jumped down from the roof. He decided to go home because when he arrived at the cemetery, he realised that he was too late. The cemetery was empty so he went to Asuma's grave and sat down. He lit a cigarette and kept it on the grave. A lone tear slipped out of the Nara's eyes.
At home
Shikamaru found himself brooding over the death of his sensei. He sat on the balcony of his house and looked at the scenery. He didn't even realise that it was nighttime.
Suddenly, he remembered his father's words just after the death of Naruto.
He stood up and walked to his room. As he passed the shogi room, his father, who was sitting in it, called his name. Shikamaru immediately stopped and heard his father's word.
"Do you remember our discussion just after the Demise of Naruto?"
"Yes tou san. I request you not to come to my room for the night." Shikamaru said without bothering to look at his father.
He went to his room, closed the door and started screaming out of pain, suffering and sadness. Tears ran down from his eyes. His mouth became dry.
He slammed his hand on his shogi table breaking it into two. He punched the wall repeatedly until he became tired. He threw himself on the ground and curled up himself into a ball.
"First Naryto, now Asuma Sensei. Why is this happening to me?" Shikamaru wondered as tears fell down from his eyes.
Suddenly his vision fell upon the shogi board which he picked up along with shogi pieces and started planning for the revenge for Asuma.
Soon, the moment the sun rose, he quickly set out to meet up Choji and Ino at the BBQ.
AT BBQ
Shikamaru saw that Choji and Ino already arrived in the BBQ. He sighed and went to them.
"Hey Shikamaru, why didn't you come yesterday." Ino enquired.
"Ino, Choji, this is where we used to celebrate after each and every mission." Shikamaru said ignoring Ino.
"I don't know where you are going." Choji said.
"Come let's go and avenge Asuma." Shikamaru said with everyone nodding.
At the gates of Konoha
"Where do you think you three are going?" A familiar voice shouted as she saw the trio going out of Konoha.
Turning around they saw Tsunade and Shizune standing right in front of the them.
"Isn't it obvious? We are going to avenge Sensei's death."
"Shikamaru, Ino and Choji. I know that you are angry over the death of Asuma. But I cannot let you go without another member of your team." Tsunade said.
"Um, excuse me Tsunade sama. Did you just say that they need another member?" A voice said.
Turning around they saw it was Kakashi.
"Will it be ok that I go with them?" Kakashi asked.
"Do whatever you want. I will not interfere." Tsunade said.
''And one more thing, please send Sasuke and Yamato as our reinforcement." Kakashi requested getting a nod from the blonde hokage.
5 hours later
With Hidan
Hidan and Kakuzu were walking aimlessly since they didn't have any mission.
"Oi Oi Oi. I had a nightmare today. It was about my death." Hidan said which made Kakuzu stop in his tracks.
"And how did you die?"
"I found myself trapped in a heap of rocks. And my skin was full of blood. I was starving and soon died out of starvation." Hidan said.
"Hm, interesting nightmare." Kakuzu remarked thoughtfully.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, they heard the screaming of one thousand birds. They looked behind to see Kakashi holding a chidori in his hand, which was thrusted into Kakuzu's chest which resulted in breaking of one of his heart.
When Kakashi pulled out his hands he was not surprised to see that nothing happened to Kakuzu even if his chest was pierced. Actually he had already read the report about Kakuzu
Jumping away from Kakuzu he quickly weaved some handsigns.
[Fire style: Great fireball technique]
But the fire did nothing to both of the akatsuki members.
Suddenly Hidan found that he couldn't move his body. He looked down to see that his shadow was longer.
[Shadow possession jutsu. Complete.]
Shikamaru quickly made Hidan to take his schyte and charge towads Kakuzu.
"KAKUZU. DODGE IT!" shouted a concerned Hidan.
Kakuzu quickly jumped away from a possessed Hidan's charging.
(A/N: Hidan vs Shikamaru fight will be the same as the canon. But I have to make Konoha nins vs Kakuzu different since we have Sasuke Uchiha instead of Naruto
Hidan was taken away by Shikamaru into a forest. As they disappeared, Choji attacked Kakuzu.
[Human bolder!]
Kakuzu again dodged from the attack. He quickly emitted black subdtance from his body which attacked Ino, Choji and Kakashi.
These black substances soon retreated to Kakuzu's body as he held Ino and Choji and by their.
Suddenly, smoke filled the air making it difficult for Kakuzu to see properly. He felt something wet under his feet and his eyes widened. Throwing his captives away who were quickly caught by two figures, he jumped away in nick of time. He looked below and saw that the water was filled with electricity. If he was a second late, he would have received a serious electric shock.
Soon, the smoke dispersed away to reveal Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Sai, Tenten and Yamato.
Tenten actually got seperated from Team Gai which resulted in her being lost. When she wandered around searching for her team, she met the team 7. Upon learning that they were reinforcements sent by Konoha to assist Kakashi and others, she immediately joined them.
When they neared the fighting region, they saw that Kakuzun was choking both Ino and
Choji.
Tenten quickly looked at Sasuke and got a nod in return. She was the one who spread the smokescreen and quickly took out a scroll and filled the area with water.
In the meantime, it was Sai and Sakura who grabbed the others in the captivity of Kakuzu.
Right now, Kakashi gave an eye smile signifying that he was happy to see them.
"Sorry for being late. After all, heroes arrive at the last moment. Don't they?" Sasuke said with a visible smirk on his lips.
"Now, come on let's kill them." Sakura said with everyone nodding.
Sasuke looked at Kakuzu. He was already aware of the hearts which he learnt from Shikamaru and Ino.
Sending Sakura and Sai to assist the Nara, Sasuke glared at Kakuzu.
Suddenly, a light was seen emerging from Sasuke's hand. The light ray rushed towards one of the hearts, which caught Kakuzu in surprise, destroying it completely.
"Only three hearts left." Sasuke thought as he performed a fire styled jutsu which Kakuzu easily dodged.
But little did he expect Tenten to start throwing a hundreds of Kunai to Kakuzu which destroyed another of his heart.
Before Tenzo could use his wood jutsu, Sasuke asked Tenzo to stand behind and look at Sasuke's special technique.
"Kakuzu, you did a great mistake. Do you know what it is?" Sasuke asked with Kakuzu looking at him confused.
"Well, you forgot to look the weather forecast for today." Sasuke said which made Kakuzu more confused. But Kakashi quickly understood.
"EVERYONE GET AWAY AT LEAST 600 METRES AWAY FROM KAKUZU." Kakashi shouted.
Kakuzu tried to make sense of what was going on.
After everyone was in safe distance from Kakuzu, Sasuke did nothing.
Kakuzu was about to attack Sasuke but when he looked up, his eyes widened.
The thunders started roaring in the sky and formed a shape of dragon. The dragon started dancing in the sky as Sasuke said "This is Kirin. A very powerful lightning jutsu which guarantees the death of everyone within its range. This is for Asuma sensei." Sasuke shouted the last part again before the dragon rushed to Kakuzu killing him instantly.
Sasuke was quickly saved by Kakashi's Kamui. He was low in chakra but it was enough to use Kamui for at least taking and bringing out a man to and from the dimension.
When everything cleared the group was shocked to see the extent of damage caused by the powerful jutsu.
"What was that?" It was Shikamaru who came to the area after defeating Hidan.
Sasuke said nothing as he fell down to the ground due to chakra exhaustion.
Kakashi held Sasuke and thought "Is it the death of Naruto which is motivating you to push yourself to your limits. I am truly proud of you.......Sasuke."
As the group including Tenten, Sakura and Sai left, they didn't see two cunning foxes, which were following from a safe distance since the beginning, giving a foxy smile and leaving the dead bodies. One of the fox just came from the battlefield of Hidan And Shikamaru while the other was already relaxing in a cave.
A/N: This is the first time. I wrote a full fight. I left out Hidan Vs Shikamaru because the fight is just like in canon.
