Chapter 70 : Second plan - sudden friendlier leads to doubtness!

One month later .....

Emperor Lee is quite happy those days. Actually he's not only happy , but his days turn blissful and less anxious. All of his worries, suddenly seems vanished. He felt completely relax now. There have no national problems , news of bandits , no quarrels between ministers, no harem schemes , nothing !

The greatest happiness is that relationship between his mother and his wife slowly improved nowadays. Looking at their sudden harmony, it made him believe that his mother might have forgiven Edna and accepted her heartly. Although as a man , it seems harder for him to understand the world of woman , but he really hoped harmonious relation within this two important woman of his life. After all , previous accusations on Edna is merely a part of schemes, Edna is innocent after end of the day . Lee smiled softly . They were both important woman's of his whole life . If he lose one, he don't know what will happened to him next !

" M'lord ." Steward Lu called him suddenly.

" Hah ?" In a daze, Lee replied . Steward Lu had long noticed his masters behaviour. He is behaving slightly strange today. A deep frown broke into his old face while he started thinking about His highness Emperor Lee's health .

" Is something matter , your Highness ? This subject noticed ... eh ,how happy you have become those days . This lowly servant wished for a long happiness in your majesty's life ." Steward Lu politely bowed .

Lowkey he regret asking this question. He should never asked more about his Highness personal life . Thankfully he changed his complete tone before he regret it later. Steward Lu was bewildered, when Emperor suddenly chuckled loudly.

" Haha. I don't mind it. I was just happy for those recent improvement in our relationship. " Emperor Lu stated. Steward Lu was confused.

Recent improvement in relationships! What's that ? Steward Lu wondered.

" I mean in my relationship with others. " Lee uttered feeling flushed while looking at questioning look from his old steward Lu . He cleared his throat for covering his slightly embarrassed red face. Steward Lu unknowingly nodded.

Looking at his peaceful days , Lee sighed. His this position as the ruler of this Empire brought many bittersweet experience in his life. He even ignored his messy private life , he behave like a womaniser. For getting support from court , he increased his harem residents as his woman . But he never touched any of them even after spending his so called nights with them. He merely created a strong boundary of non physical attachment within his harem ..... for Edna . He doesn't want to pollute himself and making himself like a flower within group of bees ! But with his all stupid reasoning, his harem is now fillied up with women . He was behaving like a shameless Emperor, who likes younger girls so his harem is now completely full . From his heart , he felt wronged for hurting his wife. He was destroying her faith and her love for him slowly. But he can't help it. As a new emperor , who was less favoured during his days as royal prince , he needs connections and powers through the acceptance of womans from powerful family. Sometimes he felt pity for those young women , when they gave hopeful eyes towards his direction. Lee shook his head ,feeling pathetic.

Sometimes he wanted to slaped himself for ruining life of those young innocent ladies. He often wondered what if he freed them from this harem ? Lee again shook his head. He ruined their beautiful life , if he freed them from harem it will bad for their entire life. Who will going to accept them back after becoming a divorce or left-over woman ? People will criticised them . They will make their life no better than living hell. No matter what even if that lady is once from wealthy family , they will never going to accept them back as someone's wife again . After all of these ,they will end up as prostitutes, beggars or maybe hidden slaves of wealthy family for pleasure or worse as laughing stock in the street or nun of lonly temples ! They were not old enough to live their life happily like the way of his father emperor's concubine and ladies did , who lived their life cheerfully with the remaining award money from imperial palace . Lee heaved a sigh again .

He is an Emperor. A leader of the country. He can not fall in love easily. But he already did. He secretly fall in love with Li Edna. But he feared that his all intention, his love for her will bring nothing but problems to her life again . He cannot changed society's rule out of nowhere for his love . Sometimes he wish to born as a commoner. So, he could openly confessed to Edna without having any restrictions.

Thankfully his biggest concern is about his legal wife Edna and his birth mothers relationship. Which seems never on a good side . But his mother and Edna's sour relationship looks solved somehow . Due to that unexpected incident at spring hunt , they seem more closer now. Lee smiled feeling satisfied.

" Lu ?" Suddenly Lee called .

" Yes , your Highness. " Steward Lu immediately replied.

" Tell me honestly ! What do you think about my mother and Empress sudden closeness ? Is it good or bad sign ? Or it's way too sudden and unexpected !" Lee hummed slowly , in deep thought. " According to your point of view, is it good ? " Lee questioned.

Silence consumed the whole study room . Lu was dumbstruck by his majesty's question. After a moment, he opened his mouth slowly. He dare not to refuse him nor want to say something disrespectful things .

" M'lord !" Lu again though for a while. " It's good that both accepted each other after all of those unpleasant moments . Your Highness, you can relax for now. Furthermore I am just confused .... " A deep frown spotted in steward Lu's face .

" Hm ?" Lee raised his one eyebrow in anticipation. " elaborate. "

" Your Highness, forgive this subject if this seems offending . But don't you think , it's clearly so sudden ? I mean this servant really do wish for good results . But this incident seems unrealistic. It's been long after you married her Highness Empress Edna . Her highness empress dowger never seems interested for Empress Edna. But suddenly she became all friendlier. It is so suspecting ." Lu honestly answered. Realising his fault he immediately change his sentence. " Forgive this servant ,this subject heard many analysis for many times. Many were suspecting in their recent good relationship. This servant is not suspecting anything but , from the eyes of others ...  it's obvious." Lu bowed ,refusing any eyes contact from his majesty.

" Lu ?" Suddenly Emperor Lee called him .

" Yes , your Highness !" Lu waited for any order .

" You are getting older really ." Lee suddenly teased steward Lu. Feeling shame , Steward Lu lowered his head even more . " Don't worry. Everything is happening positively. More like, it was happening for good ." Lee answered.

Steward Lu only nodded . He only gave his opinion as his majesty asked him. It doesn't matter if his Highness consider it really or not.

" Oh ! Mother had invited me to her palace. Lu , let's go. We should not make her wait any more ." Lee stood up suddenly.

A confusing Lu followed back slowly . Something is not right , his heart told him . But it's not his duty to educate the father of nation ! He is only a royal servant. He shook his head.

As his majesty replied , everything must happened for good !
