Dean stares forward, his eyes glassy with unshed tears.
He nurses a drink, before downing it on swallow. He pours himself another, before looking up.
Dean downs that drink, before pouring another one, allowing himself to get wasted.
'Cause the drinks bring back all the memories
Of everything we've been through
Dean slams his glass down, tears falling down his face as the drinks bring back all the things he wanted to forget.
All the fights with him, all the things they left unsaid.
"If you're not going to be any help, just go!"
"Without his powers, he's basically a baby in a trench coat!"
Dean slams his fists into Cas's face, blood pouring down the latter's face.
"Dean... please..."
"Cas! Take my hand!"
Dean blinks and downs another drink.

Dean looks up at the kitchen ceiling, and raises his drink.
"Here's to you, Cas. I'll..." Dean looks down, and rubs his eyes, trying to stop any more tears from falling. "I'll miss you, buddy."

Dean's driving down the road.
Cas is still in Purgatory, and it's all Dean's fault.
Out of the corner of his eye, he sees a man in a ratty old trench coat.
Dean brakes rapidly, and reverses into a parking lot. He gets out of the car and runs down the gravel.
"Cas!" Dean calls hopefully. "Cas!"
But he's no where to be found.
Dean drops to his knees.
"Cas." He says, his voice breaking.

When I believed in forever, and everything would stay the same
Dean and Cas walk into a police station.
Dean pulls out his badge and holds it out for the receptionist to see.
He nudges his friend, who nervously pulls out his own badge and shakily holds it out.
