if you dont really understand the final chapter its suppose to be Aurora telling her children Haven the oldest child, Ella the middle child and Michael the youngest child, the stories of when James was trying to kidnap her. When Drake came in the scene "wiping his blood off his mouth" was because Aurora had turned him into a vampire. Aurora was telling this story about 2,000 years into the future. So they carried on their lives normally.
