Formerly titled "Does y/n is pneumonia"
14 missed calls.

I move Laurence's arm that's draped over me. I redial dad's number. He picks up immediately. "Y/N? Are you okay?"

I rub my eyes. "Yeah. I was just asleep."

"I was worried..." He sighs.

"I wasn't."

He goes silent for a little bit. "Travis caught me up on everything. I'm sorry for not taking the time to talk to you about things... he told be that they're having prom next week."

"Yeah. They are."

He tries to get me to open up some about my life. "Do you have a date?"

I sigh. "It's complicated... Laurence hasn't exactly... asked me yet."

"Oh. Well, Travis and I thought it would be a good idea to take you {dress/suit} shopping today... If you'll come home."

"Of course I'll come home dad." I tell him. "It might be a bit, though..."

"Yeah, yeah. And we don't even have to go out shopping, I just want you home..." He says.

"Yeah."

"Yeah."

Laurence moans sleepily and pulls me towards him.

"Dad, I've got to go... I'll talk to you later." I say.

"Okay, um, bye."

"Bye."

I hang up the phone. As soon as I sit it down on the bed, Laurence groans. "What time is it?"

"It's 9:47." I say, trying not to laugh at him.

He grabs my hand and forces me, gently, into a laying position. "Come back to sleep, beautiful."

"Why does this happen every time I'm here?" I giggle, pushing him off the bed.

He groans. "You butthead."

"At least I'm your butthead." I smile.

He stands up and walks over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Mhm. Did someone call you?"

I nod. "Yeah. It was my dad. He called... 14 times while we were sleeping. He wants me to come home."

"Do you need a ride?" He asks.

"Yes! I do!" I say.

He scoffs, teasingly. "Sounds like a you problem. I have to go shopping today."

I put my hands on my hips. "I'll walk then!"

I walk around the room, gathering my stuff up back into my back. Laurence frowns. "Babe~! I was joking! I'll give you a ride!"

I sling my backpack over my shoulder and kiss him gently. "Thank you."

He drives me home. The ride there is pretty uneventful. When we pull into the driveway, he, all of a sudden, takes my head in his hands and kisses me. After a while, I pull away, trying to catch my breath.

"What... was that for?" I say, gasping for air.

He laughs. "For you to remember me over the weekend."

"You're nuts."

"I know."

We both laugh. I wave to him as I get out of his car and walk into my house. Travis hugs me when I as soon as I walk in. "ARE YOU OKAAAAAY?!"

"I'M OKAAAAAAY!" I laugh.

"DID YOU GET PNEUMONIA?!" He asks, now we're just shouting for the irony.

"DOES IT SOUND LIKE I GOT PNEUMONIA~?" I laugh.

He flails his arms. "NO, BUT YOU CAN NEVER BE TOO CAREFUL."

My lungs feel like they're gunna burst from laughing so hard as I hug Travis. He hugs me too, squeezing the remaining air outta me.

"AYE, I CAN'T BREATH."

"PNEUMONIA, I KNEW IT."

(Joking about pneumonia is my coping mechanism for my grandmas death haha)

This chapters short because I have to go finish (aka start) my summer book report thats due in 4 days. {I haven't even finished the book yet rip}

Also, if you're even reading this, I don't think you can comprehend how unenthusiastic I am about starting school because I feel as if I'm going to make a joke and accidentally out myself haha.
