Harry's POV-

I closed the door behind me and it turned around. "Harry Potter," it said, "such an honor it is," he said bowing down.

"Who are you?" I asked. "Dobby, sir, Dobby the house-elf," the elf said. "Not to be rude or anything, but now is not a good time for me to have a house-elf in my room," I said.

"Oh, oh, yes, sir, Dobby understands, it's just that, Dobby has come to tell you," he said, "it is difficult, sir, Dobby wonder's where to begin."

"Why don't you sit down," I suggested. He looked at me then jumped off my bed and started crying, noisy crying. "Dobby, shush, I didn't mean to offend you," I said trying to calm him down.

"Offend Dobby, Dobby has heard of your greatness, but never has he been asked to sit down by a wizard, as an equal," he said.

"You can't have met many decent wizards," I said smiling. "No I haven't," he said in a matter of fact tone, then frowned, "that was an awful thing to say." Then walking over to my dresser, he started banging his head on it.

"Bad, Dobby, bad," he kept on saying to himself. "Dobby stop, Dobby please stop," I said looking at the elf then to my door and back. Finally he stopped hitting his head and was walking around, "Are you alright?" I asked.

He nodded then went to sit down, "Dobby had to punish himself, Dobby almost spoke ill of his family." I looked at him confused, "Your family?" "The wizard family Dobby serves, sir," he said, "Dobby is bound to serve one family forever, if they knew Dobby was here," he said then cringed in fright.

"But Dobby had to come, Dobby wants to protect Harry Potter, sir, to warn him," he said, "Harry Potter musn't go back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year, there is a plot, a plot to make most terrible things happen."

I looked at him confused again, "terrible thing's, what terrible things?" Then he started squirming around and making these noises and mumbled, "Can't say."

"Ok Dobby I understand you can't say," I said trying to calm him down again. He looked around then jumped up on my desk, took the lamp, and started beating the end of it on his head.

"Dobby give me the lamp," I said trying to get it out of his hands, but he was fighting to get it back, "Give me the lamp," I repeated, and tried to get it free.

When I heard someone at the door, "Dobby stop," I said then was finally able to get the lamp out of his grip. Grabbing him, I walked over and threw him in my closet, right when Uncle Vernon opened the door, "What the devil are you doing up here?" He asked.

"I was just..." but before I could finish the closet door creaked open and I shut it back. "You just ruined the punch line of my Japanese golf joke," he said. "Sorry," I said pushing the door shut again.

"One more sound and you will wish you had never been born boy," he said then looking at the closet door then me, "and fix that door," he said before he walked out.

I opened the door and out came Dobby, "See why I have to go back," I said, "I don't belong here, I belong in your world, at Hogwarts, it's the only place I've got friends."

"Friends who don't even write to Harry Potter," Dobby said turning around. "Well I suspect they've been...." but before I finished a light bulb went off, "how do you know my friends haven't been writing to me?"

Dobby looked scared and worried, "Harry Potter, mustn't be mad at Dobby, Dobby only thought that if Harry Potter thought his friends had forgotten him, Harry Potter might not want to go back to school," he said pulling my letters from out of his pocket.

"Dobby, give me those," I said suddenly angry. "No!!" Dobby yelled putting them back in his pocket and running and opening the door. I tried to grab him, but he was already out of the room and down the stairs.

I ran down and looked to see Dobby staring at the cake Aunt Petunia made, by the kitchen door. "Dobby get back here!" I whisper yelled. He shook his little head, then snapped his fingers and the cake popped off its holder and was just hovering over it.

"Dobby, no," I begged. "Harry Potter must say he's not going back to school," he said sternly. "I can't Dobby, Hogwarts is my home," I said.

"Then, Dobby must do it, sir, for Harry's own good," he said and with another snap of his finger's the cake started moving to the living room. I pushed past Dobby and walked to the cake holding out my hands trying to grab it before it fell.

But I heard another snap and the cake slammed down on Mrs. Mason's head, "I'm so sorry," Uncle Vernon said, "It's my nephew, he's very disturbed, meeting strangers upsets him, that's why I kept him upstairs."

I looked over at Dobby to see him smiling then with another snap he was gone, and looking back at Uncle Vernon I knew I was done for.
