Four years later...

I groaned as I rolled over and hit snooze on my alarm clock. I really hate Mondays. I slung the covers off of me and sat up rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. I could smell eggs and bacon coming from the kitchen. I smiled knowing Mom and Danny were down there waiting for me.

I threw some dark blue jeans and a white v-neck and my white Adidas then went to the bathroom and ran my fingers through my hair. I gave myself a thumbs up in the mirror before heading downstairs to ear breakfast with my Mom and sister.

"Good morning sweetie." Mom smiled as she handed me a plate.

"Thanks Mom you're the best." I kissed her on the cheek.

"Eat up kids. I can't have you being late for the first day of school." Mom told us as she gathered her brief case an keys up.

"Yes ma"am." Danny and I replied in unison.

"Good, don't forget Dem you are driving Danny to school. Oh, I can't believe my baby girl is a freshman and my baby boy is a junior." Mom kissed each of us on the forehead before she left going to work.

"You ready to go, Danny?" I called up the stairs.

"Yeah, let's go." Danny slung her backpack over shoulder and got in the passenger side of my 1968 red Chevy Camaro with black racing stripes.

"I can not believe I am officially a high schooler!" Danny exclaims as we pull into the high school parking lot.

"Just remember Danny, if anyone picks on you, and I mean anyone- you better tell me." I said sternly.

"Yeah sure Dem. Oh I see Autumn!" Danny bolted out of the car slamming the door as she rushed over to her friend.

I on the other hand took my time getting out of the car. Girls turned their heads and looked at me as if they were hungry, and I was a piece of delicious meat theirs for the taking. I smiled my sexy smile at them and they melted.

"Yo Dem. You got all the hotties drooling for you." Jace fell in beside me.

"Hey man, I can't help it that I look so sexy." I replied.

"Whatever man. You're so full of yourself." Jace laughed.

"I know." I smirked as I stooped by my locker.

"Who you got first?" Jace asked.

"Mrs. Wilson. " I said after looking at my schedule.

"Damn that sucks, I got Mr. Thaymes." Jace sighed.

"Sorry dude." I shrugged as I shut my locker and headed to Mrs. Wilson's room.

I walked just as the tardy bell was ringing. I made my way to the back of the classroom because everyone else had already claimed a seat. Mrs. Wilson began calling role, but halfway through a girl with brown hair walked in interrupting her.

"And who are you?" Mrs. Wilson asked the girl.

"My name is Hope Winters. I'm new here." the girl answered in a soft voice.

"Speak up child." Mrs. Wilson said loudly making Hope jump.

"My name is Hope Winters and I'm new here." hope repeated more loudly.

"Well, I don't tolerate tardiness Miss Winters. That goes for you too Mr. Carter." Mrs. Wilson looked directly at me.

"Awe come on Mrs. Wilson, I wasn't late." I whined.
