A month had passed since the incident between Godzilla and the MUTO and things were strangely calm. Seeing how out classed the Kiryu Force was, the USS Obama had been severely damaged during the battle, sure Godzilla's atomic breath had missed the ship but the force of the beam had damaged it. Hexagon made the decision to upgrade the ship. A completely new ship, it had a drill as its bow, was capable of submerging if needed and it could also achieve flight. See that they needed the Dragonzord lot more they moved the zord to the hanger underneath allowing easier access to the zord and a lot easier to do repairs now. The new ship was named the Gotengo. As soon as it was allowed to, the Gotengo made a beeline for the US coastline.

"This can't be all you have!"

The two pages of information, really one and a half, floated down in between Serizawa and General Earhardt as Ms. Fairweather stood quietly in the back of the room.

"If this is some kind of joke, Doctor. It's not funny!" Taylor growled.

"It is no joke, General. This is all the information we have on Godzilla and the MUTO as of this moment."

"Godzilla is an amphibious bipedal reptilian with the capacity to concentrate a beam of pure radiation at ultra-high temperatures from his mouth. And the MUTO is some form of parasite which fed on another of his species thousands of years ago... That's really all you have? And you stretched it out into a page and a half." I've included more information about MONARCH as well."

"Yes, yes. The bit about your father being one of the founders and you growing up following in his footsteps wanting to study Godzilla and prove that the Titans, or at least some of them, can live in harmony with humans. I got that."

"But did you read the part about how MONARCH has proven that-"

"That Godzilla has never deliberately attacked any vessels or populated locations. Yes. I got that too. The point, Doctor Serizawa, is that I got all that from just watching the battle and listening to you preach about him on the Bridge earlier. You've given me nothing truly new or even useful to go off of on how we can proceed from here!"

"I'm sorry General. But this is all we know so far."

"A multi-billion dollar shadow organization studying the Titans for over sixty years, and this is all you have? If I may be blunt, Doctor, that's pathetic."

"Godzilla has proven to be highly elusive, General. Studying him has been almost impossible."

"How so?"

"Every time we've tried to track Godzilla in the past, he disappears after reaching a certain point near the center of the Mariana Trench. If he were just resting there, we would still see him on thermal satellite imagery. And our deep-water audio recording devices stop picking up his vocalizations. It's as if he just disappears."

"Equipment failure?"

"No. The equipment picks up everything else except him."

"You could have included this in your report, Doctor."

"I did. It was in the last paragraph on the second page."

Taylor  glanced at the page in question on the floor and cleared her throat.

"All the same, Doctor, this is unacceptable. The United States Military and Navy are all on red alert now for the next time one of these monsters makes landfall."

"Titans, if you please."

"Excuse me?"

"I don't like the word "monster." They're very large animals which we have scientifically classified as Titans. I would prefer you use that term to refer to them, please."
