I will put a trigger warning before the scene starts. (flashback of Jace and Lydia)!!! Not too detailed. It cuts off at unwanted kissing.

Lydia laid against her stomach on the carpet, staring down at the board game she was playing as she waited patiently for her turn. She always loved board games. She wasn't too competitive, but she did enjoy sitting around with a few of her friends and siblings and playing with them. To her right was Rae, who had been able to come over and spend Christmas with the Gilberts since her parents were working. Elena was on her other side and was currently trying to decide what move to make while Jeremy was across from her. Tyler and Caroline were also there since their families had also been invited.

"You know whatever move you make doesn't matter, you won't win," Jeremy teased Elena who just rolled her eyes.

"You aren't exactly any better," Caroline spoke up, flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder to look over at Rae."We're all being bested by an eleven year old."

"Speak for yourself," Tyler scoffed."I'm a few moves away from winning."

"A few thousand moves, maybe," Lydia corrected, scrunching her nose when Tyler picked up a piece of popcorn from the bowl he had in between him and Caroline and throwing it at her.

"Lydia," The familiar voice of Miranda Gilbert entered the living room, causing Lydia to turn around to look at her mother as she held up a few capsules in her hand that Lydia instantly recognized."What is this? Why did I find these in the trash in your bathroom?"

"Ew. Why were you going through the trash in her bathroom?" Caroline squinted her eyes and shivered.

"Care," Elena shook her head and nudged her friend with her shoulder, signalling for her to be quiet.

"Have you not been taking your medication?" Miranda continued.

"I have, it's just-" Lydia began to explain, already knowing where this was going as she pulled herself up from the floor and away from the game. No matter how this conversation ended, Lydia would either be forced to leave or too embarrassed to stay.

"Then why were these in the trash?" Miranda pressed on."You need to take one of these every day. We have told you that a million times."

"I know, but-" Lydia tried to explain, but she was only interrupted once again.
