"Good luck," Naruto called after her as she slipped on her heels and exited the cafeteria at a quickened pace.

"GET AN IV IN HIM, STAT!!!"
Sakura Haruno rushed to assist in her mentor's request as the more experienced physician continued to operate upon the hospital's newest arrival.
It turns out that the emergency alarm she heard earlier in the cafeteria had been set off for this man and luckily (or unfortunately) for her, her mentor had been thrust into the role of his caretaker, which in turn meant that she was also entrusted with his personal care, whether Sakura liked it or not.
Finally, after several failed attempts, she was able to get a proper IV drip started and several hours later, she stood by his bedside beside Tsunade as she went over his charts in relative silence. Sakura was finally able for the first time to actually look upon their patient with a critical eye and if she was to be truthful with herself... the pinkette found that she felt rather flustered just by looking at him.
He was the most handsome man she had ever seen, with skin as pale as newly fallen snow and hair as dark as the midnight skies above their beloved city; the length of which had been pulled back into a loose ponytail that would have flown freely down his back if he were to stand and she was almost certain that he would tower over her with his height. The man's jawline was cleanly shaven and sharp while his aristocratic nose was slightly pointed, but it was the dark markings against his skin that drew her attention the most. 'Is that... paint? Why does he look so... so familiar to me?'
Her thoughts were interrupted by Tsunade. "Are you done getting a good look at him now, Sakura?" When the slightly startled woman turned towards her, her cheeks flamed a bright shade of pink at the knowing smirk twisting the older woman's plump lips. Sakura quickly held her hands up and shook her head while taking a small step back; she missed the slightest twitching of the man's left hand as she moved away, almost as if he was reaching out toward her... or for her rather.
"NO!!! No, I wasn't... I was just... what I meant to say is—"
"I'm only teasing you, silly girl... calm down." Though an explanation was given, Sakura still felt slightly uneasy and quickly changed the subject.
"So, who is he?"
"We aren't sure," Tsunade said whilst her brows twisted in thought. "A good samaritan brought him in after they found him unconscious on the outskirts of Konoha. No name and no ID. I guess we won't know anything until he wakes up." Sakura could only nod her head before Tsunade placed a warm hand upon her shoulder. "Don't worry yourself with it okay. I'm sure he will wake up soon and we can figure this all out. Besides, his wounds seem to be healing quickly, so I'm sure that he will be better and awake in no time. In the meantime though, you need to go home and get some rest because your shift ended hours ago, Sakura. You did good work today. You should be proud of yourself."
Reluctantly, Sakura followed her mentor's advice and soon found herself packed up and walking the dark streets back to her apartment. Upon arriving several minutes later, she snuck past the landlord's room before shutting and locking her door behind her; an eerie silence followed. Deciding to forgo her meal for a second time that day, she hopped into the shower quickly before snuggling beneath her sheets. It didn't take her very long, before exhaustion pulled her into a fitful and nightmarish slumber.

Sakura walked into Tsunade's office the next morning with dark bags under her eyes, the likes of which indicated just how unrestful her sleep had truly been. She then plastered a fake smile on her plump lips and took the small clipboard from her mentor's grasp willingly, ready to get started with her morning rounds. Several hours later... when she came across the last patient's name, she felt her heart pick up a few beats. The manila envelope read "Unknown" at the top and she only knew of one patient who could have possibly gone by that name.
Making her way down the long hallway seemed to take an eternity and everyone else around her seemed to just fade away as she turned the doorknob slowly... before slipping through the narrow crack and shutting the door behind her. The hospital's room was shrouded in darkness, as no one had even bothered to draw the curtains open yet, and her vibrant green eyes took several moments to adjust, before she slowly stepped into the room. She felt a chill run down her spine... as if someone was watching her... but Sakura tried her best to ignore the feeling as she made her way to the bed. But when she finally reached it, her orbs widened in shock when she realized that her patient was nowhere to be found.
Crumpled sheets lay askew on the pristine mattress as if someone had risen with haste and the small clipboard in her hands landed with a loud thud as it fell from her grasp to the cold tiled floor. 'Fuck! What happened? Where in the hell is he? Did Mrs. Senju move him or something without informing me about it earlier? What in the hell is going on here?'
She was about to turn around when she felt it; an imposing presence had somehow moved in behind her, trapping her within the dark confines of this room. It stood between her and the only door and she knew that she had no means of escape now. Her body stiffened when she felt a large hand land upon her shoulder and quickly spun to face the figure lurking in the dark depths of the shadows.
Its stature was significantly larger than hers and she took a small step back, eyes focused on the pale skin covering a masculine hand as it stretched out towards her. Sakura's throat began to close upon her growing fear and the figure continued to advance slowly before opening its eyes. She really wished it hadn't, for the most vivid shade of red met hers and terror consumed her very soul.
A silent, frightful scream began to bubble its way up from her expanding lungs as she inhaled, but before she could act on it, a deep, rich voice penetrated her senses causing her to feel slightly lightheaded and then when the unknown male's hand reached out affectionately to touch her cheek, she suddenly and unexpectedly felt weak at the knees.
"Shh, Sakuya... my beloved. Calm yourself. You know that I will not harm you."
Sakura's thin pink brows drew together as the figure finally came into view and confusion clouded her thoughts as he moved his hand to the back of her head to pull her close... into a tight embrace. It was him; it was the patient... but—
She stood there, frozen, as he continued to whisper in her ear but one thought still remained, 'Who the hell is Sakuya and who in the heck is this guy?'
