Chapter 34: Her Lovers

CHAPTER 34: HER LOVERS

"I give up."

I let my body slumped to the cold floor in surrender. I'm exhausted, physically and emotionally! Imposible naman kasi 'tong pinagagawa nila sa'kin.

"Chloe, napag-usapan na natin 'to." said the stern voice on my right.

I sighed. "It's just... I think you're wasting time doing this. I'm a hopeless case."

"Hey..." hinagod niya ang gilid ng ulo ko at hinayaan itong magtaggal sa may likod ng tenga ko, massaging it and forming small circles around it. "You are not a hopeless case, okay? Hey..." He lifted my face and cupped it with both of his hands. "Kaya mo 'to. You just have to believe in yourself."

I can clearly smell the faint mint and caffeine from his breath. The combination is addicting. Isabay mo pa ang pinaghalong amoy ng kanyang musk perfume and natural body scent. I can't help smelling even the tiniest scent due to the fact that my nose and ears are now my stronghold and active senses.

"Ehem." Agad akong lumayo sa pagkakahawak ni Martin sa mukha ko. "Masyado ka yatang malapit, Martin."

"Harvey..." I muttered and faced myself towards his voice. "Okay ka na ba?"

"Kanina pero..." he trailed off. Narinig ko ang paghakbang niya papunta sa direksyon namin. "biglang sumama ang pakiramdam ko sa nakikita ko."

I smiled and let out a soft giggle. "Ang seloso naman ng bestfriend ko!"

"Bestfriend." Martin whispered beside me. I think I heard him smirked.

"TSS! Let's go, Chloe." Hinawakan niya ako sa balikat at tinulungan ako sa pagtayo. "Kain na tayo."

Tumango ako sa kanya and grabbed his shoulder for support.

"Chloe... be back after 30 minutes. I'll be waiting for you."

Tumigil ako sa paglalakad na nagpatigil din kay Harvey. "Hindi ka ba sasama sa'min?" I asked, not turning around.

"Gusto mo bang sumama ako sa inyo?"

I felt Harvey's body stiffened. "Um... kanina pa kasi tayo nagte-training eh, baka gutom ka na rin."

"No, I'm fine. Baka mapatay lang ako ng bodyguard mo."

"I'm not her bodyguard!" Harvey interjected, na agad ko namang sinaway sa pamamagitan ng pagpisil sa kanyang braso.
