Anala yawned as she kicked her feet up upon the table her and Cedric were gathered around. It was six in the morning and she'd dragged Cedric out of bed and down to the library, insisting that he started working and practising ready for the first task.

"You're not even helping" Cedric laughed, looking up from his book to see Anala producing yet another yawn, her feet kicked up

She rolled her eyes smiling, "I'm not the one doing the life threatening challenges" she countered

"I thought you was going to help me" he tutted

"I'm here am I not?" She raised an eyebrow

"Unfortunately"

"Wow! I'll just not bother next time then" Anala exclaimed, trying to hide her smirk, flinging her arms around the room signalling her presence

Cedric lips twitched into a smile and went back to his book.

"Colloshoo" Cedric read, "that sounds handy for if I need to slow down another champion"

"What does it do?" Anala asked from her book

"It's a hex that sicks the targets shoes down" he explained, "would be great in a foot race"

"What if they're not wearing shoes hm?" Anala asked pointing her pencil at Cedric

"Why would they not be wearing shoes? I think Fleur would rather die than run around with bare feet" Cedric asked raising an eyebrow

"I'm just accounting for all possibilities" Anala shrugged

"Just write it down" Cedric chuckled

Anala scribbled down the hex onto to a long list of spells that they'd made note of for Cedric to learn.

"Thinking about it that spells actually quite useless" Anala spoke up after a few seconds, "I mean they'll have their wand, it's not as if they'd be stuck their for eternity while you go running off. They'd get you in no time"

"Well I know a lot of defensive spells so it all should be okay" Cedric shrugged

"Did they not give you any sort of clue as to what you're doing for the first task?"

Cedric shook his head, "no idea. But I have to go and meet with a writer from the daily prophet later along with the other champions. She's interviewing us for the paper"

"That sounds interesting. I wonder what questions they'll ask"

"No idea, I just hope it won't be anything too bad" Cedric shrugged before checking his watch.

Cedric had gone off along with the other champion with a blond haired woman from the Daily Prophet named Rita Skeeter.
Anala and Susan had decided to grab some lunch from the Great hall. They were a little late meaning it was slightly empty and people had started to leave.

As they tried to walk in they were stopped in the door way.

"Hello Anala, Susan" Hermione Granger smiled as she stopped in front of them eagerly.

"Oh hi Hermione" Anala smiled bristling at her sudden greeting

"Hi" Susan smiled awkwardly

"I just came over to ask if you'd help prevent the mistreatment of the house elves at Hogwarts?" She asked holding two badges out

Both girls took the badges and looked at them warily

"Spew?" Anala asked trying to stop an encroaching smirk

"S.P.E.W" Hermione clarified, "the society for the promotion of elvish welfare"

Anala and Susan shared a look

"I'd mean a great deal to me if you'd wear them" Hermione smiled hopefully

Susan caved, "of course we'll wear them, won't we Nala?"

Anala side eyed Susan while Susan elbowed her, "yeah... er course we will"

Hermione beamed as she watched Susan and Anala pin the badge onto their robes, "thank you so much!"

"No problem" Anala called as Hermione went running back off to the Gryffindor table. "Spew? I mean I love the idea, perhaps not the name. I just don't think the elves want to be helped?" She said turning to Susan

Susan shrugged, "I guess it's the thought that counts right?"

"Oh and Anala, send Cedric my best wishes regrading the first task!" Hermione called from the Gryffindor table politely.

"of course" she smiled back, " and you Harry!"

"How's he getting on with the task?" Susan inquired as they both went to sit down.

"well he's obviously not been working on it long but I think he's making progress. We've spent so much time in the library surely some of its go to count" Anala shrugged, she really hoped so.

"it will, everything will work out" Susan reassured rubbing Anala's arms soothingly

"I hope so"
