Wolves are social. They need their pack.

- Justine Larbalestier

My nose tingles from the smell of the woods and not the familiar noise from my alarm clock, eyes fluttering open as the harsh bright light from the sun's rays pour into my eyes making me wince slightly. As I woke up from a deep slumber, a sleep I never want to wake up on by the warmth that surrounds me in every crevice of my body and the natural smell of the earth, I wander my eyes to see a different room that is not mine.

This is not my house.

Shit!

I look down and heaved a sigh of relief after seeing the still intact clothes I wore from yesterday, then I gathered my belongings from the oak table drawer that I laid my eyes upon and put in it my bag then stride to open the door.

With slow and careful steps, I look at the wooden hallways, it smells of the woods and everything seems to be made from a variety of woods. As my eyes watched back and forth from left to right, I took my first hesitant step and take off, my limbs finally melted the ice that made it freeze overnight as I tentatively run the unknown place I'm in.

I see the stairs and get down with my eyes locked on the big door that would let me out of this foreign house but before I could do that, I halted after seeing the two kids, twins to be exact, in front of me with their curious eyes landing on me.

They both resembled the same and it's as if they were archangels who flew down to the earth to save the mere mortals. Their eyes glitter in curiosity and innocence only youth can attain, amidst their small stature, they held themselves with grace and poise as they continued to stare at me.

"Hi" I squeaked out, my body is still trembling in tension as I watched them like how they watched me with those inquisitive eyes of theirs.

Then I had a realization seeing those pair of twins, they both have electrifying blue eyes and they live in the forest.

"Remus, Romulus, I think I told you to greet our guest politely didn't I?"

A slender woman asked with her rich velvety voice, locks of golden hair resembling that of a sunshine frame her heart-shaped face as she smiled with those saccharine plump lips. She wore a black stain robe under a white cotton nightdress, her figure was a sight to behold as it encompasses every curve a woman wanted to have in her body.

Her aura sparkled amidst the sun's absence, her electrifying blue eyes and the similarities to her with the twins were a giveaway that they are mother and children.

"Hello, I am Remus and this is my brother Romulus" The boy on the right greeted and I was stuck there with my head having an intense mess of information and can only nod at them dumbly.

Romulus and Remus are the two Romans who were abandoned by their royal parents and was taken and nurtured by a female wolf and one of them basically led the founding of the roman empire.

Now I'm beginning to hyperventilate at the thought inside my head and the fact that they all have electrifying blue eyes that reminds me of that wolf doesn't make it easier. It could be a coincidence but what if it's not? What if I truly found the lair of those mythical creatures that the hunters and humans have been searching for ages? What should I do and what would they do to me?

"Are you okay?"

I snapped off my thoughts when I heard her call for me, looking up I matched her stare and see the concern bare in her eyes and shook my head.

I don't wanna lie and I don't think I can in this state.

"I'm... I'm not... can I go? I want t-to go home" I avoided their eyes and mumbled about going home, it took me three times to not feel the terror coursing my veins when I see one of them though it still gets on my nerves.

But today, seeing three of them feels suffocating.

I want to go home.

"Lukka!" I heard her shout and lift my eyes to see a tall figure walking towards my direction and something about him feels familiar even though I never see him before.

His raven hair was in a mess surrounding those electrifying blue eyes that seem to glow out of the dark. He resembles a character from those spy movies with his dark and solemn aura that he naturally acquire. His towering stature only adds terror as he walks with confident strides and as he reached me, I see the flickers of freckles that dotted his face and the slight bump that formed on the bridge of his nose.

"She wants to go home, will you be a dear and let her return to her home?" She then turns her head and gave me an award-winning smile before I snap out of it.

"T-Thank you also... sorry for intruding" she just knowingly smiled, I think she knew what I was talking about, intruding into their territory and for even managing to come to their lair.

With everything that I needed with me strapped on my bag, I looked at Lukka who was supposed to accompany me out of their home. As I stood right next to him, I can feel the dangerous air oozing out of him and can't help but keep at least a dozen steps away from him.

He's not much of a talker, that much I've gathered as we trek our way out of the forest. Even big animals stay away from him as I've concluded around the fact that no animals have come on our way.

The sun was glaring at us and it helped to ward off the cold that threatened to monopolized my body again. The snow was deep in my ankles and it was hard to take a step from it as it digs through the soil every step I make. The snow covered the forest in a blanket of white, the branches bent as it filled with sockets of snow from yesterday.

As we walked for what seems like an eternity, the trails begin to pick up familiarity in my mind and I begin to gain some hope. Looking at his walking posture, he was like a force to be reckoned with, he walked into the forest without fear and an expression of exhaustion.

As we near the entrance of the forest, I begin to rush up, I think he was kind enough to stay at the same pace as me as we walked around for an hour.

"Thank you" I say as I reached my car, his eyes were the bluest ones I've seen and it still makes me feel a bit uneasy, how it glows and how it seems to pierce me right through my soul.

He grunted softly and returned to the forest without looking back. I turned the engine on and was relieved that my car didn't freeze overnight and was still working, soon, I arrived in the warm comfort of my home.
