"Oh no, not into space," Thor said, scoffing like what he was talking about was common knowledge to the inhabitants of Earth - no less an atheist, spinning Stormbreaker in his hand. Small blue-white sparks of lightning encircled the blade. "To Yggdrasil, where we will be able to travel through the realms. That is how we'll reach Niflheim."

Tony was going to need another coffee for this. Maybe even splash in a little of that bourbon he only touched once a month so he wouldn't be tempted to pull his hair out.

"It'll be just like a field trip, Mr. Stark!" Peter enthused, trying his hardest to keep his voice at an acceptable calm level. It was harder than one might think, especially as his mind raced with the thoughts of all he's never seen and the places Thor could bring him.

"Ah, yes. Like a field trip!" Thor agreed.

Tony didn't want to bring up what happened on Peter's last field trip, but he would bet money that the glare he sent in the direction of the two of them spoke the statement well enough, seeing as Peter's smile twitched and a furrow threatened to appear between his brows. That didn't deter his enthusiasm however, to the man's dismay.

All Peter could think about was the fact that now that he knew that the extent of life in the universe extended farther than, well, the universe, it took nearly all of his self control to keep himself from imploding. It was a dangerous mix of the scientist in him and his childlike curiosity that made him want to do nothing but explore the cosmos - given that he had the chance; which he did.

And Thor...well, Thor saw no problem in letting Peter tag along. In fact, he was more than happy to let the boy venture with him. But despite the life he grew up in on Asgard, he knew that age worked differently on Midgard - including the addition of needing to ask for parental permission to bring a child out of the realm.

"Look," Tony hated saying this, truly hated too, but it was necessary, "as much as I wanna let you go, I can only escape death so many times. And I'm positive there is no way I could outrun your aunt if something were to happen to you on Niffleaim or whatever it's called."

"Niflheim." Thor calmly corrected.

"Right. That. Thanks Kratos." Tony clasped his hands together as Peter's smile fell the rest of the way. "Sorry kid, but she's your legal guardian. She has final say."

Thor stopped swinging Stormbreaker, a soft frown setting in on his face. The god was quick to understand, and was preparing to make his journey without him, turning to Peter to bid his farewells, but the boy had other plans. Peter refused to give up that easily, and he was quick to pull out his phone. Thumbs fumbled to type out his password and then to find May's name in his contacts, but he was hitting the green call button in record time.

"Come on," he urged as the line rang, "pick up please,"

"Peter? Is something wrong?" His aunt answered just before Peter would have reached her voicemail.

"Yes! No. I mean: I need to ask you a question." He could feel Tony and Thor watching him, so he turned around. Not that that helped much. He still knew they were watching his back. And not in the normal way.

There was a small pause, and Peter could picture May clearly muttering a soft prayer before her voice rose over the line again. "Make it quick sweetie, some nurses didn't show up and I'm working the E.R."

"Okay, okay," Peter said quickly, inhaling deeply, "Mr. Thor is going to Niflheim, and I really wanted to go with him, but we knew that we needed to ask first, so we asked Mr. Stark if I could go. But Mr. Stark said I needed to ask you, because technically, we would be leaving this planet, and the decision would be up to you whether I could go or not. But May, I really, really wanna go, so could you pretty please say yes?"
