Chase slid his paw on the resting royal's form to caress with delicate touch. She had her eyes shut tight within her own castle cage, sleeping soundly. The golden gate around the tiny structure prevented anything from entering or escaping, unless the path taken was through the opening to the gate's front itself, thus why the Shepherd was within.

I hope I didn't exhaust her too much from our game. I mean, in my defense, I didn't know they would stay up all night for it.

Although all he was doing was continuing his job, he couldn't help but observe her appearance. Regardless of the multiple occasions wherein the two got close to one another, this was the first time he could really see what she looked like without having to focus on something else. Her snowy fur was like a pillow to his eyes; so soft and well-groomed. Even her light snoring was rather pleasant to the ears, unlike her snort everytime she ended a laugh.

One quite hilarious fact that Chase had to keep for himself was how much she twitched during her slumber. It was adorable indeed, and the caretaker couldn't help but crack a smile as his paw moved from her body up to her head, breezing through her bangs. He admired the smooth and silky wave of her hairstyle that flowed through his paw's tiny openings which tickled a little, but as a slow movement occurred, he was forced to come back to his senses.

Sweetie's lids leisurely opened to meet Chase's thoughtful gaze. The brown creature was relieved, sighing after the anxiousness that he might have just ruined his newly planned schedule on day one. In this moment, Sweetie was recollecting herself from being revived into reality. However, her facial expression told the Shepherd she wasn't as happy.

"What's your business being here, lowlife? You should know better than come close to me, or do you actually want me to call the guards and have them believe you're guilty of harassment?" The pup was obviously still disheartened from the presence and Chase's smile immediately turned into a frown of annoyance. All he wanted to do was his job, yet some pup took it up to themselves to remain stubborn and proud of their title.

"You gotta wake up." The male showed Sweetie his watch, a digital set of numbers appearing.

It was 5:00AM

"Somebody slay me now," Sweetie grumbled, her ventilation running quicker. "The sun has yet to rise!"

She sprang up, irked as she leaned forward to the canine with a gnarr, craving her resting place. She would personally kick Chase out of the castle in her current mood but the opposing pup bore a stern, immovable contour that it's impossible to overlook his sense of seriousness.

"You have a new schedule and I'm in charge of it. I'm just doing this because it's my job. I wouldn't care less if you hate me, the feeling remains mutual," he responded, turning away and opening the gate of the cage, which flung open violently, a loud clanging noise heard after some sort of contact to the metal. Sweetie may have gone too far in her unsettlement this time around.

"Now hurry up! I ain't waiting for you." Chase turned his head when he shouted, the previously kind emotions seeming to have been an illusion from how he acts currently. "Also, lay off the fancy talk."

With the figure walking away, Sweetie was out of words. She was shaking her head, frustrated that not a single sentence was retorted from her mouth towards the pup. Sweetie only choked from hearing his dominant tone and harsh movement when he exited, and if only Chase knew how she didn't like the feeling of being the defeated.

You insect, I will crush you.

Her teeth connected as she grit them, doing her best to avoid lashing out unprofessionally. But, somewhere in her heart, she was wishing she didn't receive the words thrown at her. She was the princess's pet after all and other than that... it just plainly hurt. "Wait, that's it!"
