MUSIC echoed through the house and Klaus woke up to find that Ingrid had already gotten up for the day. He glanced over at the clock to see the time was seven in the morning. He furrowed his eyebrows and walked down the stairs to see Ingrid wearing an apron and dancing around the kitchen with Hope and Eirik. There was a pan on the stove and a bowl full of pancake batter on the counter.

The other Mikaelsons began to file in behind him and Klaus held a finger to his lips before pointing at his wife and their children. They watched Ingrid pick up Eirik and sway him back and forth while signing along to the music playing on the radio. She grabbed one of Hope's hands and spun her around with them. The two singing with her in off-key and loud voices. Hope had a spatula in her hand which she used as a microphone. Ingrid laughed happily, kissed Eirik on the cheek, and pointed at Hope on encouragement.

Klaus leaned against the railing and observed his wife with a face of admiration. He grinned widely, his dimples peaking out for his cheeks, and enjoyed the sight of his family being carefree.

The other Mikaelsons were amused at what was unfolding before them and Kol held a hand over to his mouth to keep himself from laughing loudly. Klaus nudged him with a disapproving sneer, trying not to get Ingrid's attention.

However, when Ingrid spun them around again, she noticed everyone staring at them and smiled awkwardly. "Good morning."

The group began to try their best to pretend they weren't watching but she knew better. Elijah walked toward them and grabbed the bowl, taking over the task of making breakfast. Soon they all joined in the kitchen, flooding into the dining room. Kol approached them and kissed Ingrid on the cheek before sitting at the table.

The children were focused on the man standing at the bottom of the stairs, stating at him in awe. Ingrid set Eirik down and smiled at Klaus while laughing nervously. "I didn't expect anyone to be up for another hour."

He grinned at her and shook his head, moving to ease her nerves. "I heard the music and when I woke up, you weren't there."

Eirik was the first to approach Klaus and stared up at him with a cheeky smile, his own dimples on his chubby cheeks. "Daddy!"

Klaus knelt down next to him with an overjoyed look on his face. "Hey, buddy."

Hope walked toward them with an anxious expression on her face but greeted her father nonetheless. "Hi."

He smiled warmly at her and held his hand out for her to shake. "Hi."

Both of them threw their arms around him, hugging them with all their might. Klaus was surprised and caught of guard for a second before placing a hand on each of their backs and returning the embrace. He glanced behind them at Ingrid with tearful eyes and an emotional look.

The Mikaelsons were all sitting around the table, enjoying breakfast together when Kol thre his hands up in exasperation and glanced at his family in annoyance. "What's the holdup? All right, we rescued Nik, we escaped mortal danger why are we not on a private jet to Saint-Tropez?" He asked incredulously and spoke with his mouth full causing Ingrid to glance at him in disgust. "You can catch up on the last five years when we're on our way-- I can assure you haven't missed much."

"Kol, please chew your food before speaking." Ingrid scolded him in a motherly tone earning snickers from the other four adults.
