Katherine's pov

I watch as Kit places the small wooden cubes elaborately on the board.

He glances up at me from time to time, chirping as if he were excited.

I watch as he spells out a few words, dragging the cubes together with his claw as I sit up, picking up the notebook.

I open it to the next page, expecting to find another step, but instead finding a flyer.

"Nexus Energy Labs."I say quietly as I pull the flyer out of the book.

Under the flyer I see scribbles, and notes.

"Don't trust Nexus" "Keep him safe" "Don't let them take him."

I glance up at Kit, who was still spelling out words.

"Nexus?"I question.

He jumps at the name and shakes his head before looking around.

"Are they bad?"I question.

He softly slides the board towards me, and I notice he had written out a few sentences. I read them out loud.

"My father was taken. I was shot down in the woods. Nexus is looking for me."I read.

I look up at him and he lets off a few chirps and clicks.

"Did Nexus take your father?"I question.

He nods.

I look back down at the notebook.

"Kit, why are you hiding? What are they looking for you for?"I ask.

He brings the board back to himself, changing a few cubes around.

"Power. Magic."I read.

"You have powers?"I question.

He makes a low grunt that sounded somewhat threatened.

"You don't have to show me. I want to protect you, not use you kit."I say.

He lets out a few soft chirps as he rearranges the blocks.

I open the notebook again, turning the page.

Step Three: Sleep

If kit doesn't get enough sleep, he will become aggressive. He will most likely hurt you if he's tired. He comes feral, like a wild animal.

Be sure where he sleeps is warm. No blankets, a mattress and pillows are fine. I also suggest getting a cat tower, and a sand paper box. His claws can get really long, and sharp.

I've come to realize he gets most tuckered out when you let him outside. Let him stretching his wings. If you're lucky, he might even fly you around.

I smile slightly at the soft animal sounds Kit was making.

He yawns, and Laya his head on the table.

"Okay, time for bed then."I say.

I help him stand and walk him over to his bed. I pull the blanket off the bed and allow him to lay down. As I'm about to walk away, he chirps at me.

"What's wrong?"I ask.

He chirps and then nods to the book in my arms. I chuckle as I walk over to him, placing it in his arms and allowing him to hug it to his chest.

I then walk towards the stairs, flipping the light switch.

"Goodnight."I say softly.
