You could cut the tension in the car with a knife. The Pens had lost the round against the Rangers and Geno wasn’t taking the loss very well. He wanted the Stanley Cup so bad, especially since he lost the Olympics. You put your hand on your stomach feeling your barley there baby bump. You and Geno had found out that you guys were pregnant right before the second round. You knew Evgeni wasn’t going to take it well and you were scared for what was going to happen when you two got home. You looked over at him and noticed that his jaw was clenched and his knuckles where turning white on the steering wheel. After about 20 more minutes of very uncomfortable silence you finally arrived home. Geno pretty much ran into the house while you walked slowly trying to prolong what was going to happen.

“I can’t believe we lost!” He screams once you close the front door. “Geno you and the team tried your best. It just wasn’t meant to happen this year, but there’s always next year.” You say trying to get him calmed down. “If we tried hardest, then we should win. But, we didn’t and that what everyone say. I tired of hearing it, I want to win.” “I know Geno, but at least you still have me and the baby.” You say trying to get happy again. But, he does the opposite. He looks at you in disgust and says “What make you think I want baby or you.” The minute the words left his mouth, you felt your heart break in two. Then tears started streaming down your face and said “If you don’t want us, then I guess we’ll just leave.” You scream at him as you storm up to your shared bedroom. Too tired to pack up you decide to sleep and then leave early in the morning. As you change into your pj’s you look at your baby bump and say “You’ll always have mommy.” You crawl into Geno’s side of the bed cradling your stomach and crying, wondering how it got so bad so fast.

You wake up to the smell of pancakes and you start contemplating on going downstairs or not. Finally, you decided to go downstairs and face the music. You slowly went downstairs and walked into the kitchen. You saw Evgeni running around the kitchen trying to prepare breakfast. Geno must have heard you because he turned with a sheepish look on his face. “I-I make breakfast for you and baby…” “Geno we need to talk-“ “I know I mess up and I so, so, sorry Y/N. I should never said those things. I upset about the loss, but it no excuse to say those things. Y/N, I just so, so, sorry.” He said his voice cracking at the end. You sighed and said “Geno the words still hurt me though. Now I have these thoughts going through my head that you don’t want me or the baby. Do you know how much that hurts?” He sighed and walked towards you. He gently grabs your waist and pulls you into a hug. You sigh and nuzzle your face in his neck, while he rests cheek on the top of your head. “It hurt so much Geno when you said you didn’t want me or the baby.” You whispered into his chest. “I know and I so, so, sorry. I do anything to take back the words I said to you. But please don’t leave.”  Evgeni pleaded. You pulled away from him and saw the honesty in his eyes. You stood on your tippy toes and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. You then rested your forehead on his and looked him in the eyes. “I’ll stay, but if you say anything like that again I don’t think I’d be able to take it.” You whispered. “I promise I never say anything like that again. I love you so much Y/N.” He whispered back and then kissed you passionately. You both smiled into the kiss and then gently pulled away. Then he dropped to his knees and pulled up your shirt and kissed your baby bump. “I love you and your mommy so much.” He whispered into your tummy. You started up tear up and as he stood up he pulled you into a tight hug you knew everything was going to be ok.
