“Sid… I’m scared.” You whispered to your brother.

He looked over at you gripping his arm and sighed.

“Have you never flown before?” He asked quietly.

You shook your head and began panicking as the flight attendant told everyone to fasten their seat belts.

“(Y/N). It’s okay. Here, just keep your head here. I’ll protect you.”

Sidney placed a head on the back of your head. You leaned your forehead on his arm.

“I’ll just tell you about Pittsburgh. Try to forget about where you are.”

Sidney pressed your head a little tighter so you couldn’t hear the engines so bad.

“So… uhm.. There’s the team. There’s my best friend, Geno and his friend James Neal. Uh, there’s this kid named Olli. He’s your age I think… and Beau… We’re a family. When we go on road trips and they pull pranks…”

You stopped listening after a minute once the plane finally leveled out. Your hold on his arm loosed and you sighed.

“You good now?” Sidney asked with a smile.

You nodded, “Thank you.”

Sidney looked out the window on the other side of you. You decided to look out too and saw yourself in the clouds.

“Woah.” You said looking back at Sidney.

During the flight the “fasten your seat-belts” sign would come on and the plane would hit turbulence. Every time it happened you would grab Sid and he would wrap and arm around you and start telling stories again. Your favorites were the ones about you and him as kids.

“Remember when that bratty neighbor kid ran you over with his bike?” He asked.

You nodded.

“Well, you were only four so I don’t know how much you remember. His equally bratty sister who was probably like…six? She knocked you over when you wouldn’t give her your food. Which is funny because you wouldn’t give her your food now either. You fell on the ground and at the same time… Kyle? I think his name was? He ran over your arm and I remember that awful snap sound. So you started screaming and I picked you up and ran with you home. We didn’t have cell phones then.”

“You did?” You asked.

Sidney nodded. “I was twelve then. I got you home and mom and dad freaked out. Dad rushed you to the hospital, but I told him I had something to go do…”

You frowned. Sidney saw your confusion and smiled.

“I walked over to Kyle’s house, asked for Kyle, and when he came down stairs and went outside with me, I punched him in the face.”

Your jaw dropped. Sidney was never a fighter.

“You what?!”

Sidney smiled, “Yep. I had to send him a message. When you came home with a tear streaked face and a big pink cast it took everything in me not to go hit him again.”

You thought about how Kyle had been for the next few years after.

“He never talked to me again. Neither did his sister Chelsea.”

Sidney nodded.

“That was my plan. He tried to talk to you your sophomore year though didn’t he?”

You nodded, “Asked me to a college party.”

Sidney’s jaw tightened.

“You don’t do that… right? Party?”
