Ava's body lay swarled on the beach sand at the center of the cirlce, the entire squad around her, as she had woken them up with her screams. Only Natasha dared stand near the circle, as she continued to read the spell.
As She approached the end, Ava began to cry, and twist on the sand, drawing pity from all that were around her, including Natasha, who paused her reading.

"please help me " she cried, holding her hand out to them,
Natasha examined her eyes, and realised they had returned to the natural blue, but no one seemed ready to take her hand, so she turned to Rava, who's heart skipped a beat as her eyes connected with his.
Filled with compassion, he took a step forward, but Marcus stopped him with an arm.
He looked up at him, and shook his head in disapproval, but Rava Insisted.

This didn't sit too well with Natasha, who quickly read another sentence from the page. This one hit her like a wrecking ball, as she rolled over, a few feet within the circle.
She turned on her side as quickly as she had fallen. Rava staggerd back, as her eyes had gone green again, with a crescent moon mark on her head, and a red line from her head that revealed she was bleeding.

She spun angrily to Natasha, who had arrived the last word of the spell, and stopped her with a yell.
"you are aware the price that comes with such spells right ?" she inquired with a grin.
Natasha stopped as the words reached her. She looked to the others, who had no idea what was going on. She returned her gaze to Ava, who still had her grin on.
She had forgotten about the price to be paid, and now she was one word away from it.

A dread suddenly began to spread within her, at the realization of the thought that she could be condemned to a fate worse than death for it, or that she would never see her friends again.
She looked to Aureathria with glassy eyes, picked up one of Alwins enchanted arrows from the quiver, and tossed it to her, and gave her a nod, before turning to The enchantress who now wore a shocked expression.

She called the last word of the spell passionately, and moved back a few steps, but nothing happened.
The Enchantress grinned again,
"of course, " she started " you're the stronger one, the one with greater determination"
as she evaporated out of Ava's body with wailing and anguish.
Natasha looked at the rest of the team, with glassy eyes as she fell to her knees.

She took a look at Ava who had fainted, halfway out of the circle.
"this was no ordinary encounter guys, it was staged from the very beginning " she said with a groan
She opened her mouth to speak a gain, but looked down sharply, with another groan.
The entire squad took a few steps back with shocked expressions as she raised her face back up, to look at them.
She felt the scorch too as she placed her palm on her forehead, and removed it, to see the exact same crescent moon mark she had seen on Ava's head, was on hers.

"don't let her take me " she muttered, holding her hand out to them.
"Kelvin... "She cried , but he looked away, unable to bring himself to do it.
She groaned again, and began sobbing.
"Aureathria... " she cried again " please "
Aureathria hesitated too, but her cries were becoming more and more unbearable.
"it hurts " she muttered with muffled crying.
"I know it's not fair, it shouldnt be you, but it is, I know you can't hurt me"

At this point, Aureathria threw down her quiver, and strung her bow, with Alwins arrow. She raised her aim with glassy eyes to Natasha's heart. A tear rolled down her right cheek, as she remembered their memories together...
Raiding castles, escaping armies alongside drake and Kelvin, helping farmers with their broken wagons... It all just became too much for her to take.
"goodnight sister " she whispered beneath her tears, and she released the arrow.
The arrow tore through Natasha's ribs to her heart, and through to her back.
