Once in the city, they began to spread out as planned, Moving in pairs, Rava and Ava as usual, Mia and Kira, Ivan and Carina, Vulcan to protect Ariel and Darla, Aureathria and Natasha also moved together.
As Edda had said earlier, herself,Kelvin, Marcus  and Dorian. Went on to the castle walls.

On arrival, the guards inquired who they were, and what business brought them to the castle, as was the usual practice at castle gates.
Edda, looked sideways at Kelvin, who had a hood on, hoping his disguise would hold for long enough.
"I'm Dorian, a priest, here to pay tax and discuss a pressing issue with the great King " Dorian said.
The guard looked down at them for a bit.
"and them" he inquired referring to the others
" they are my guards, had to hire them all the way down here,  the roads aren't safe enough for an old man to walk by himself these days.

They looked at them for a bit, then signalled the others at the gears that the gates be opened, allowing them access into the premises. The rode down slowly looking around them. It reminded Edda of home,  although it looked nothing compared to Strolgars colourful gardens and all,  but the comfort around them was inviting enough.

They soon arrived the front doors and alighted from their horses,  and we're requested to drop their weapons at the entrance.
Kelvin stepped forward first, took off the blade from his shoulder and dropped it,  the bow, and arrows too,  then a set of knives too,  then walked on, Edda drooped her chains, and the daggers, which seemed to Tip the guards off a bit,  from its looks, they were no ordinary daggers, with the handles laced with pure gold, she then dropped her sword too, bearing the same Gold sigil and markings.after which she walked on before they could catch a second glimpse of her face.

Marcus looked at them intimidatingly for a bit, before placing his heavy sword down at the table and walking on,  a soldier walked to his front to stop him, for further search, but Marcus's glare, intimidatingly towering build, repelled him, causing him to back away cautiously.
"damn mercenaries " the soldier cursed, as the others made fun of him when Marcus left.

Ariel and Darla dragged Vulcan with them to go see their brothers,  while in the company of the others, Aureathria and Natasha shared their thoughts what they thought about the squad,  especially Ava the mage who they both perceived to be using powers of a dark source.
Mia and Kira  went sight seeing around the city, while Ivan and Carina rolled into a tavern in the town ,and sat down over cups of wine
Carina still felt down, that she was ditched by Levi,  and Ivan was trying hard to make her feel better, but her resolve was hardening,  she blamed Kelvin and Edda for everything that had happened,  and was determined to get revenge. Ivan shared her perspective on the fact that Kelvin was to blame for all that had happened, accusing him of schematically dividing the squad from their true leader, and pretending to show compassion, during the challenge. He had opposed Levi in the past,  especially at the time of Leo's death,  but later realized that Levi was cleaner than the assassin they now commissioned as their captain.
He promised to help Carina in whatever way he could since they both share a common goal, which was to bring Kelvin down, and break  Edda,  although Ivan had nothing against her.

Rava and Ava rode together in silence through a ghostly part of town. Ava could feel it that Rava had something he wanted to ask or talk about, and she knew what it was, but he was still fighting it.
" what happed back there" Rava asked, maintaining a straight face
"back where " She asked
"back when you tried to Heal Kelvin " he said,  simplifying it for her although he thought it unnecessary.
" I didn't want to get knocked out of my Witt's again " she frowned
"but Natasha did it effortlessly, and not taking the chain off at that " he replied, this time turning to her
Ava didn't reply to that, but rode on.
"I do remember you telling me it was some sort of a protective relic" it can't possibly be protecting against a healing spell could it
"except if its made out of dark energy " Ava's tounge slipped, revealing her frustration.
" the relic is made out of dark energy? " he inquired
""Rava I don't know... I just don't wanna talk about it" she said " revealing her discomfort in the tone of her voice.
"can we discuss something else please " she sighed.
