They water current had picked up the pace the following day, and the successive days also,  like they were sailing to water rapids or whirlpools, but nothing of the sort ever appeared.

They were about their usual talk in pairs and trios,  when a cry came from the crow above.
"storm on the horizon " Rava said,  drawing everyone to the edge to get a view of it.
"here we go again "  Vulcan said "our strange encounters begin
The sentence spread panic among them,  but Kelvin quickly drew their attention to himself.
"it's absolutely normal guys " he began " the closer we get to our objective,  the harder things are gonna get, we just have to be ready... "
"now I have no idea what's in those waters, but I do know its too late for anybody who wants out now, and I'd rather die fighting,  than die without taking the once shot at survival I've got"
"were made strong by the challenges we face,  not the ones we avoid " he concluded looking round at them.
There were a few nods and murmurs among them,  till Aureathria spoke up,
"well you heard the man,  let's get this baby ready to rock that storm people"... And somehow,  every one seemed to listen to her, as they dispersed at her word.

Moments later,  they came some dangerously close to the storm,  and realized it was by far a very different  storm from any theyed ever seen, this one special storm,  was surrounded with a very dense fog within and without,  followed by frequent thunder and lightning bombardments, with strong winds to boot.

"Kelvin,  there's no way we're going through that" Mia protested.
"yeah she has a point Kelvin " Aureathria added.
Kelvin turned,  surprised that she agreed with Mia
"relax guys,  the island is just behind that storm "
"Kelvin,  to make it through that, you would have to be the best captain in the realm"
"not necessarily " Kelvin replied,  gripping the rudder.
"you do understand we aren't indestructible like you right " Ivan said,  going on the offensive.
"you're saying I'm trying to get you all killed ? " Kelvin asked as his aggression sparked.
"ugh...  Obviously" he replied,  pointing at the imminent storm.

"stop this right now" Edda cut in.
"don't you all get it, if we turn back now, then it would all have been for nothing... Leo Gaitian... Cmon guys " Edda urged.
"besides if we don't stop this thing,  it's going to March down to Vrohengard eventually.... everything you know,  everything you love.  It'll all be gone"
A long solemn silence befell them again, then Ivan spoke up  slowly
"but Kelvin,  going through that... You're asking us to die "
At this words,  Kelvin lost his resolve to keep the argument,  Ivan was right,  it was madness even for some like him, defeated,  he let go of the rudder,  and leaned over the barriers.

Noticing that He had nothing more to say,  Edda stepped at his side and began to speak.
"you've all given your best so far,  and we have no right to ask more of you, but were all that stands between this monster and our families, our homes, it's us or them. I don't know about you, but I for one,  am not gonna abandon my people to a fate worse than death.

"that was a good ass speech " Kira joked ,
Drawing all the attention to herself,   " and you can count on me to fight alongside you for that " she added.
The others were still trying to make up their minds,  when the ship entered the storm. The fog within was so dense,  one could hardly see even ten feet away.
Forcing them to resort to torches,  and yelling,  for easy location.

They sailed on quietly for minutes, that translated into hours,  then the unseen skies above them rumbled, followed by lightning storms.  The first to strike the ship,  set a sail cloth on fire, but Ava and Natasha put the flame out without a fuss, then there's was more and more, setting parts of the ship on fire,  but they Ava and Natasha had it under control.
Then came the winds, climbing in strength. the farther they proceeded, forcing them to roll up the sails to keep the ship on track.  At a point,  a horn so loud it caused the ship to vibrate,  sounded.
