Kelvin tumbled down in the snow rolling over and over till he was able to gain balance,  he looked up at Aureathria,  charging at him  with her inhuman speed again. He looked at his body, examining how she had cut him sore, and was showing no sign of relenting.

He had tried blocking, but she was faster than he would ever be. Before he could block a blind spot she would have done the damage and added another. He knew he wouldn't last if she kept this up,  he had to do something,  but transforming wasn't one of them.

He whipped his leg at her to knock her off her feet but as usual she was a second too fast for him,  avoiding the hit,  and barreling her first into his head. He tumbled down a few more feet away.
Edda arrived the scene and saw kelvin in the snow and an Elf walking towards him,  probably the Aureathria he had always talked about,  but she couldn't understand why she was attacking him.  She immediately loosed her chains and braced herself to join the fight when Dorian's hand reached her.
"leave them be they always resolve it"   he said
" and... you're going to need more than those to put her down " he said looking down her at her chains.

Kelvin smelt Edda's scent through the frost,  and felt a light glimmer within him,  a warm feeling,  that rose him up to his feet.
Aureathria charged at him again, but this time he opened his arms out to her and caught her with a hug
"it's alright... I understand how you feel " he said
She dropped her swords and hugged him tightly,  before the tears began to roll down her cheeks again.
" there were thousands of them Kelvin  tens of thousands of them" she muttered,  shivering in all her body parts as her brain relaxed,  and recognized the consciousness that it was indeed cold.

" it's alright you're safe now" he assured her.
He looked in Edda's direction,  but she quickly hid herself. Causing him to smile since he already knew she was there and could smell her from that far out.

Ariel, the priest's daughter prepared dinner for the entire house, and took care of the horses, with the help of her little eight year old sister Darla and Ava. While the others cleared and prepared warm places in the hall for sleep. Kelvin helped Aureathria to bed and joined them too.
He worked in company of Edda and Marcus,  joining benches to make a long table for dinner.

When dinner was ready, it wasn't as much as they had hoped,  Darla and Ava set the bowls down while Ariel brought the food and served into each bowl.
After this they summoned all to the table for dinner.

Rava was the first to answer the call,  hurrying to take a seat on the long bench.  He looked down at his bowl of pottage and chicken for a bit, noticing how small it was he looked at the other's and realized it was the same,  he then Raised his gaze to Ava.
"most of the crops have been destroyed so... " she began to explain,  but then Rava shifted his gaze to Ariel,  and she nodded.
Rava then remembered their briefing before they left home,  the enemy they were up against also destroyed crops and anything related to food.

" it's okay,  that's why we're here,  we're going to fix this" Rava assured them Looking between Ariel and Darla.
" are you a soldier " Darla asked politely
" no Darla,  he's a mercenary "  Ariel replied
Rava shook his head  " I am a soldier, and i fight for "Hertzberg of Vrohengard"
Ariel's eyes widened and then narrowed into a frown that was broken when her father came in with Kelvin and the others.

Dorian blessed the meal before they began to eat, and they discussed the affairs of the land and the Kings as they ate.
"so where are you from" he asked Edda who sat adjacent to him,  opposite Kelvin.
"I'm Edda Hertz... " she paused when she felt her foot  being trampled upon from across her.
She shifted her gaze to Kelvin and saw it in his eyes that she shouldn't reveal her identity,  but unluckily for him Dorian felt a bit of the impact and noticed the change in the atmosphere. The others had become awkwardly silent,  and the pause in the fair lady's sentence had something to do with it.
