Coming Clean

As I come clean

I wonder everyday

as I look upon your face, aw huh

Everything you gave

And nothing you would take, aw huh

Nothing you would take

Everything you gave

Did I say that I need you?

Oh, Did I say that I want you?

Oh, if I didn’t now I’m a fool you see

No one knows this more than me.

As I come clean

Nothing you would take everything you gave.

Hold me till I die

Meet you on the other side

Pearl Jam (from the song Just Breath)

LORD, hear my prayer,

listen to my cry for mercy;

in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.

Do not bring your servant into judgment,

for no one living is righteous before you.

The enemy pursues me,

he crushes me to the ground;

he makes me dwell in the darkness

like those long dead.

So my spirit grows faint within me;

my heart within me is dismayed.

I remember the days of long ago;

I meditate on all your works

and consider what your hands have done.

I spread out my hands to you;

I thirst for you like a parched land.

 Redemption: “the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil” New Oxford American Dictionary

The two poems I chose for this message relate the unending need of humans to be loved, even when it is undeserved. In humility they call out for grace, forgiveness and compassion. In our search for redemption there is one we will hurt more than any person can be hurt, one that loves us more than any person can love, and one who cares more than any person can care. After we insulted Him, doubted Him, and hated Him, He came so that we could kill Him and He could say to us. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28 Thank you Jesus.

Daily Journaling Questions:

How did I help someone today?

What act of kindness did I perform today?

What did I learn today?

Who did I love today?

What about today do I want to remember forever?

What are my goals for tomorrow?

Thanks for reading.
