I woke to see my doctor with Skills standing beside him.

"Sup dawg, I went to the River Court and saw you layin' there..." Skills said, as I sat up.

"Toby, it seems as though your murmur is getting more intense. We may need to rethink you playing basketball." The doctor said.

I took a breath and looked at Skills, "Did Whitey give you a spot?"

He smirked, "You know it, baby! Tree Hill's newest Raven."

I nodded, letting a smile grow on my face. "Can I think about it?" I said, looking at my doctor.

The doctor nodded and I was released not too long after.

Midnight struck, and it was now officially Brooke's birthday. Skills had told me that Lucas and Brooke split up late last night, and that Luke had mentioned me. Saying 'If he has a shot, I hope he goes for it'. I took a deep breath and dialed her on my phone.

"Happy birthday, B.Davis." I said with a grin, "I'm gunna pick you up for breakfast okay? Okay." I said, hanging up.

I nodded, feeling rather confident with everything. I went back to sleep so I could get rest for later.

I picked up Brooke, and she walked out with a smile on her face. "Ya know, you are the only one to say anything today..."

"Well how could I possibly forget Brooke's birthday?" I said, heading to Karen's for breakfast.

We spent breakfast just talking about anything and everything. We talked about Lucas, Nathan and Haley, my medical stuff going on, and more.

"So, are you still going to play?" she asked, showing concern.

I nodded, "Yeah, I plan to. I mean, the season will end anyway... I wanna finish what I started, for once."

She accepted my answer and then had a sly grin on her face, "So what did Tobin James get me for my birthday." she laughed.

I took a deep breath, "Well, I didn't expect it now but I guess now is that time." I laughed, grabbing my guitar and headed to the mic in the cafe.

"Hello everyone, you know who I am. I just... I wrote this song for someone special and today is her birthday so it deserves to be heard." I smiled, beginning to strum.

The whole time I sang (Imagination by Shawn Mendes) my eyes never left Brooke's. She had the biggest smile on her face and tears were building up in her eyes. As I strummed the final note, I saw a single tear fall down her cheek. Everyone clapped and we made our way out of the cafe.

After that I had taken her for ice cream and walked around town. I didn't expect it but she intertwined our hands. I couldn't help it but I smiled.

"Hey, could we go to the mall? Me and Peyton always did this thing..." she said drifting away as she said Peyton's name.

I wrapped an arm around her shoulder as we waitedoutside the mall doors to see if Peyton would come out. She did a little later, with Lucas by her side. "Brooke... I am sorry."

She just shook her head, "Let's get out of here."

I took her back home, to Rachel's, and said goodbyes at her door. Again, she surprised me by placing a kiss on my cheek, "Thank you for today." She smiled, closing the door behind her.

I was at the Cafe again helping Haley with work when Brooke came in again. "Come back for round 2?" I joked.

"Maybe later!" she laughed and then pulled Haley into the kitchen.

I wasn't ease dropping, but I heard everything that was said. Haley was pregnant... but Brooke was taking the hit for it. I stared blankly, until Haley came back out.

"Toby? You alright?" she asked, placing a hand on my arm.

"Uh, yeah I just... You would tell me anything right? Even if you were scared... You know I am here, right Hales?" I asked.

She smirked, looking confused "Of course I would." she said, returning to work.

I exhaled and continued working. Deb was acting strange today and as if I couldn't have said it sooner, a gun fell out of her purse and as it hit the ground it fired causing the door window to shatter.

"Oops!" she joked.

I went back to the River Court that night to try and NOT think this time. Haley was pregnant and she was unable to tell me. I took a shot but it didn't go in and Lucas was standing there to get the rebound.

"Can we talk?" he said.

I nodded, taking a seat in the bleachers. "I know about your feelings with Brooke, and her and I aren't together anymore... If you have a shot? I want you to be okay going for it. We'll always be friends, Tobin. No matter what. You love her, and if she ends up loving you back then nothing would make me happier."

We hugged and played a light game of one on one... Like we used to.
