I adjusted my right arm on the sling and glanced up when there was a light knock on the door.
"Need help?"
I shook my head and looked at Jojo who was standing behind Elisa.
"Actually" I stated.
She looked at me.
"Can you bring Jojo?" I asked.
She looked down and picked him up. He whined as she brought him inside Kat's room.
"It was an accident Jojo, he's not mad at you"
She placed Jojo on the bed and laughed when he tried to run away.
"Jojo, come here" I called out.
I patted my thigh and smiled as he slowly made his way over.
"Hey boy, long time no see" I told him as I scratched his head.
He wagged his tail and I laughed as he jumped on me.
"Jojo, be careful!"
I looked at Elisa and smiled.
"It's fine, wrong arm" I told her as I moved my face so I wouldn't get licked.
"Are you going out?"
I nodded and smiled at Jojo who curled up next to me.
"Yeah, the guys invited me out to lunch" I said as I scratched Jojo's head.
"Honey"
I looked at her.
"You're not upset, right?"
I shook my head.
"I figured I would get that answer" I admitted.
She nodded and my phone buzzed.
"That's probably them" I told her.
I reached for my phone and looked at the text. Joc was telling me they were out front, and if I needed any help.
"We'll walk you out"
I nodded and replied to Joc's text. I reached for my wallet and followed Elisa out of Kat's room and down the stairs. The doorbell rung and she laughed.
"They're quite excited to see you"
I nodded slowly and she opened the door.
"Good afternoon Dr. Saenz"
Elisa smiled at Joc.
"We've talked about this Joc"
He leaned down to give her a hug.
"That's your name though!"
He looked at me and nodded slowly.
"You've looked better"
I chuckled and shook my head.
"Thanks man" I said.
Elisa touched my back and looked at me.
"Do you have a key?"
"No" I told her.
"Give me a second"
I nodded and turned to look at Joc who wiggled his eyebrows at me.
"Here you go, have fun"
I took the key and smiled.
"Thank you" I said as I put them in my pocket.
She placed her hand on my back and turned to Joc.
"I'll bring him back in one piece"
She smiled and nodded.
"Alright, it was nice seeing you Joc"
He nodded and smiled.
"Bye!"
"Bye" I said as I followed Joc out.
I heard the door close as Joc held the gate door open for me.
"How are you feeling?"
I nodded.
"Better, I can move my arm without thinking it's going to fall off" I told him.
He nodded and opened the car door for me.
"Thanks Man" I told him.
"Can you put on your seatbelt?"
I nodded and put on my seatbelt.
"Nice to see you're ok"
I looked at Trayce and nodded.
"Thanks man" I said.
He glanced at me as Joc got into the car.
"You ok?"
I nodded and leaned back against the seat. Most of the talk was Joc directing Trayce on how to get to the place we were going to eat.
"You said you were talking with Kat's dad?"
I nodded.
"I asked Kat to move in with me" I said.
"And?"
"Her parents are oldfashioned" I stated.
Trayce hummed lightly.
"They said no"
I nodded and shrugged lightly.
"She can still sleepover" I said.
Alek had sat me down after breakfast and told me about his and Elisa's decision. He told me we were young and had our whole life ahead of us. I already knew I was going to get a no, but something in me was hoping they'd change their minds. No minds were changed, but Alek did tell me that he hoped that in a couple of years I would be asking for his daughter's hand in marriage. He would gladly say yes in a couple of years. Right now, we were young and he wanted us to enjoy our early 20's.
