Katalina's POV- April 2016

"How'd the meeting go?" I asked Mike as I took a sip of my water.

He glanced away from the baseball field and looked at me.

"They want me in the program"

"That's great" I said.

He nodded slowly.

"It's a great program, but I have to pay for most of it"

He shook his head and looked at the field.

"I have other great programs offering to pay everything and even half of my expenses"

"A school is offering to pay everything?" I asked.

He nodded and looked at me.

"Ohio State"

I smiled.

"That's great, that rarely happens" I told him.

He nodded.

"It's far though"

"You won't be alone though. Stella goes there" I said.

He nodded and clapped, as Matt Kemp was striked out.

"You see number 5, infield"

I looked around and nodded as my eyes fell on him. He was standing in between 2nd and 3rd base, which would make him a shortstop. He was tall for a shortstop as well, being at least 6'3 or over.

"Him and I were drafted the same year"

I looked away from him and at Mike.

"Mike, if it weren't for your concussion you would be playing in the big league" I told him.

He chuckled and shook his head.

"Probably not, the only reason I even entered the draft was because my mom made me. I had the athletic scholarship at USF, but I was smart enough to get an academic scholarship that basically gave me a full ride to San Jose State"

I nodded.

"She got in contact with my old agent, and he's trying to get me tryout contracts"

I sighed and shook my head.

"Mom's going to cut me off when I tell her to go to hell, which is why Ohio State looks great"

I nodded and rubbed his arm. I looked back at the infield at number 5 who was had his back towards us with SEAGER on full display.

"His name is Corey, and he's taken a rather liking to you"

He nudged me.

"What?" I asked.

It was strange to hear that from Mike. He was usually the type of friend who glared at boys who tried flirting with me.

"Want to meet him?"

I raised an eyebrow.

"This is strange hearing this from you" I said.

Mike was incredibly protective of me.

"He's what I liked to call a gentle giant. Tall, but he's harmless. He's as cool as a cucumber"

He turned to me.

"What do you say?"

I looked at him.

"Not today though, tomorrow or another time"

I nodded.

"Ok" I found myself saying.
