I moved his hand away from my cheek and shrugged lightly.
"I had feelings for you Adrian, incredibly strong feelings" I stated.
I shook my head.
"I'm no one's second choice though" I told him.
He nodded slowly.
"I love you Kata"
I took a deep breath and smiled at him.
"That might have meant the world to me a couple of weeks back" I stated.
I shook my head as I crossed my arms.
"The feelings I had for you, they vanished when that girl opened the door to your apartment" I said.
He sighed and pushed his hair back.
"I have needs Kata"
I almost lost my virginity to him, and then I remembered what my sister had told me. She told me your first time had to be special, and losing my virginity in a locker bathroom stall was something I didn't want to do.
"I told you I wasn't ready and you said you understood" I said.
"I do"
I shook my head.
"You don't, or else you wouldn't have done that" I said.
I shook my head and let out a deep breath.
"Maybe I did love you" I stated as I looked at him.
I laughed and he looked at me.
"My heart hurt so much when that girl opened that door" I started.
I shrugged and shook my head.
"I couldn't give you what you wanted, and I'm sorry" I said.
He laughed and began shaking his head.
"You made me a very happy girl, and I have to thank you for that" I said.
He scoffed and looked at me
"Yet here we are"
"I hope you find someone who loves you and makes you incredibly happy" I told him.
He shook his head and he glared at the ground.
"Maybe communicate with this girl, and make sure you both are on the same terms" I said.
I reached over and grabbed his hands and smiled at him. He looked at me and let out a deep shaky breath.
"Please Kata"
I squeezed his hands.
"I'm not the one for you Adrian" I told him.
"Please don't do this"
"I hope we can still be friends" I said.
He pulled his hand away from me and took off his snapback.
"I tried to fix things but you left!"
He put on his snapback and looked at me.
"You run away from your problems!"
He let out a shaky breath and nodded.
"I'll give you your space, if that's what you want. Whatever makes you happy"
"Thank you" I told him.
"I'm sorry, I honestly am"
He sniffled and wiped his face with the back of his hand.
"If you change your mind"
He stuffed his hands into his pockets as he looked at me.
"I won't" I admitted.
He let out a deep breath and nodded.
"I'll just go now"
He turned around and began walking away. I waited until he was a good distance to begin walking back to the apartment. I smiled at Jaclyn as she waited for me at the bottom of the staircase.
"Where were you?"
We made our way up the stairs and she hummed as she unlocked the door.
"I was with Adrian" I told her.
She looked at me.
"I ended things with him" I said.
"Good"
She walked inside and into the hallway. I closed the door behind me and smiled at Vero.
"You ok?"
I looked at her and smiled.
"Yeah, I'm fine" I told her.
She nodded.
"How'd it go?"
I nodded.
"He told me he loves me" I stated.
She looked at me and I shook my head.
"I turned him down though, and I made him cry" I said.
She smiled and walked over to me.
"He's an idiot who realized you were the best thing he could have ever had"
She rubbed my back and smiled as she pulled away.
"He wasn't the one, your man will come. I'm going to hate how perfect he is, mark my words"
I laughed.
"Yeah?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Yes, he's going to be so handsome, smart and tall!"
She smiled and grabbed my hands.
"I have your back"
I smiled and gave her a hug. Veronica and I were teammates; she played Defense so she always had my back. If I messed up on a save Vero was there to block the shot.

Anyone follow gymnastics? I was so happy when Simone won her gold (everyone knew she was going to win but she's incredibly humble!) I teared up when Aly got silver (she was so close last olympics, her hard work paid off). I'm excited to watch the uneven bars final, I want Maddie to win that gold (I hope she doesn't go pro because the thought of her and Kyla Ross dominating bars at UCLA makes me happy).
