I smiled when I spotted Nathan talking with Jacey, Joc's little sister. I pulled the car up next to them and smiled at both of them. Nathan opened the door for her and even closed the door for her once she was inside.
"Hi Jacey, I'm Katalina" I told her.
She smiled and shook my hand.
"It's nice to meet you"
She let go of my hand and I turned a bit to look at Nate as he got into the car.
"Glad to see you cut your hair" I told him.
He smiled and put on his seatbelt. His hair had been a curly mess, and now it was tamed.
"I had to look good in my roster picture"
I laughed.
"I was telling Jacey about the carnival this weekend"
I nodded and looked at her.
"I told your brother to tell you" I said.
She shook her head.
"He never told me"
"Well you are invited" I told her.
She nodded.
"That sounds like a lot of fun"
I nodded and began driving.
"Who's making lunch?"
I glanced at Nathan from the mirror.
"My mom" I said.
He nodded.
"Your mom is out with Maia right now buying the last minute things"
Maia moved into her dorm at Baylor University on Monday. Most of all her stuff was at Angela's place in Dallas. She would start school in a week and a half after her move in day. Maia and Nate played Ice hockey, but they also played another sport. For Maia it was Softball, for Nate it was Volleyball
"I need to go pick up my suit from the dry cleaners"
"We can pass by if you want?" I asked.
He nodded.
"That would be great"
I nodded.
"Is Alex here already?"
"Dad went to pick her and Martin up from the airport" I said.
He nodded.
"Lucy and Mattias are getting here tonight"
"Are they flying in from Nashville?" I asked.
"Yeah"
I hummed.
"I thought they were still in Sweden" I said.
"Nah, they got to Nashville like 2 days ago. They're going with us to Dallas to paint and decorate the baby room"
I nodded.
"Ben is living with Ange and Antoine, right?" I asked.
"Yeah, Antoine asked him since he doesn't feel comfortable in leaving Angela alone once the season starts. Maia will be close by but she won't exactly be able to go to Dallas whenever she pleases"
"When are they getting in?" I asked.
"They get in Thursday morning"
I turned to look at Jaclyn who was scrolling through her phone.
"Hey Jacey, what are you doing tomorrow?" I asked.
I looked away from her and continued driving.
"We have the day off"
I smiled.
"We're going to Disneyland, if you want to come" I said.
She began shaking her head.
"It won't be a bother, you should come"
She looked at Nathan as I pulled up in front of the drycleaners. Nate got out of the car and I turned to look at Jacey.
"His sister is getting married on Friday" I told her.
"Oh wow, that's nice"
I nodded.
"You're invited to the breakfast" I said.
She smiled.
"Corey's going, and Trayce was invited. I need to make sure Corey tells your brother and Alex" I told her.
She nodded.
"Alright, I mean...if you insist"
I laughed.
"I can see why Joc said you're a likeable person"
That's honestly surprising considering I rarely spoke to Joc.
"Who's Jaclyn?"
I raised an eyebrow.
"He talks about a Jaclyn"
"My best friend" I told her.
She nodded.
"Trayce likes her"
"Yeah?" I asked.
"I overheard him and Alex talking the other morning"
She gasped and covered her mouth.
"I don't think I was supposed to tell you though"
I smiled.
"Your secret is safe with me" I told her.
