Corey's POV- January 2017

"Mom was telling me and Julia this morning that Katalina applied to out of state programs"

"Yup" was all I had to say.

I wasn't mad that Kat was looking at out of state options for Grad School. She had applied to some of the best schools for the programs that she wanted.

"How do you feel about that?"

I looked at my brother.

"This has nothing to do with me" I told him.

"You two are dating"

I nodded.

"Because I'm dating her, I know that any program that accepts her will have a hard working young lady who gives it all" I said.

He nodded.

"You're willing to do long distance? You know if she chooses a program out of state"

"Yeah, Kat and I actually talked about this already" I said.

"And?"

"She wants to do it, and I would be willing to do it as well" I admitted.

Kyle nodded and smiled.

"No offense"

I rolled my eyes.

"Hear me out Corey"

I didn't really want to, but I would let him talk.

"You love her, a lot in fact"

I nodded.

"But you don't have a good track record when it comes to long distance"

"I know that, but Kat is different" I told him.

He nodded.

"That she is, you got lucky because she is beauty and brains. Why is she interested in you again?"

"You're a dick" I said earning a laugh from him.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah"

He took a sip of his water and looked at me.

"Her ambitions are different Corey"

I nodded.

"She comes first for you, but school comes first for her"

"What's so bad about that?" I asked.

"No need to be defensive about it man, but"

"Can we not talk about this anymore" I told him.

Kyle looked at me.

"Does she have a program in mind?"

"Yeah, but like I said. Let's not talk about this" I said.

I didn't want Kat to leave LA but it was selfishif I didn't support her decision. Whatever she decided, I would stand by with.
